Oh yeah, and don't forget the ski boots.
The Big 12 is a travel nightmare for CU fans. The reason Buffs have a bad rap for travelling is because all rival schools are central timezone towns hardly worth visiting for aything more than the tailgate. Can't fly to many of them and driving takes 4ever.Denver will never host a championship game. If they did, you might actually see me CU fans than anything seen in KC, Dallas or Houston.
My dream B12 league:
East:
AFA (Nod to our heros in uniform. Zoomie Cadets out sex-scandal anybody).
BYU (close to skiing and a major airport. Provo is a trip.)
CU
CSU (low-budget road-trip. Always fun to silence the lambs),
NU (for the 'rivalry'. Let those bastards be standed in their own timezone)
Wyo (League doormat -conveniently close to home)
West
ASU (luv the desert in Oct/Nov),
Cal (Berkeley & Boulder in the same conference? groovy man)
USC (gotta beat the best to be the best),
UCLA (rotate schedules with USC and visit SoCal every year)
Stanford (Brainy school to knock around)
UNLV (ultimate road-trip and a guaranteed win)
The recruiting bump would be awsome based on geography alone.
careful, before a couple of geezers think that this board should stand as evidence in support of "kicking out" colorado.
which brings the question -- what precedent is there for a conference "kicking out" a member team?
You're going to drop CU and Baylor, replacing them with Arkansas and TCU? Sports talk is really going downhill.
First of all, it would take an awful lot for Arkansas to leave the SEC. Secondly, TCU has trouble drawing 35,000 to games consistently. NU fans constantly degrade the fact that CU has trouble filling 54,000 seats, but they want to add a school that is essentially an afterthought in the DFW area? Also, you can bet UT and A&M would fight it all the way. They already left TCU behind, why would they change their minds now and bring TCU into the fold and immediately lose ground in the DFW area? Additionally, the Big 12 would drop the Denver TV market and not gain much in return (they already have the DFW market). Finally, NU fans are constantly complaining about how much power the South schools have, so they're going to add two more to the conference, including another Texas school?
To sum up, the sports talk guys that put this idea out there don't know what the **** they are talking about.
There has been talk lately of getting rid of the Big XII all together because of the "south's dominance" and blah blah blah............I'm going to be rooting for every Big XII 12 North team to throat punch the mouth breathers to the south this season!!!! THE NORTH WILL RISE AGAIN!!!![]()
Often pork bellies are mentioned on cornhole radio, too.
On the 'could care less' scale, Omaha sports blather registers below Tammy Faye Bakker's hair dresser, and ever so slightly above than Barney the Dinosaur.
Pukebraska talk radio is getting too much press on this board. Is there anything interesting going on on Waco's airwaves? Afterall, what is Lincoln, but a low-rent version of Waco?
rarely would i agree with a husker but you might be right on this one.....if there is one thing that has truely sucked about the Big 12 in recent years is the dominance in the south. not only on the field but the fact that they usually get the Championship game as a home game. The glory days of CU, NU, and KSU all being ranked are looking damn good now. ok fine.....go Big 12 north!![]()
