    CBS Sportsline Ranking: CU-59

Again if FSU hadn't lost and then we beat them (they would have been ranked) it would have helped us tremendously. A win over the Noles still will help us a lot.

Everyone needs to stop worrying about rankings. That is the last thing on the 'to do' list for CU at this points. Getting games against ranked opponents is not hing on the list, we will see why when OU comes to town. Just get wins at thei point. The fact that FSU is not ranked is awesome, becasue with an unranked team at home, we have a chance. This team is too young to have a chance with a ranked team right now. As it is, maybe we can win this one, get some more, and maybe make a bowl game. That is what CU needs for recruiting. 5 wins might do it to show improvement, but a low level bowl game (and especially a bowl game win) would do wonders for our recruiting. Improve enough to at least give NU a dog fight at the end of the year, even if we didn't win, would be an improvement, and maybe hype the game for a better time slot next year.

I'm not posting the rankings to gloat or anything like that. It's interesting to see where we are ranked according to everyone else. Don't think for one second that those recruits pay attention to our rankings or our beating ranked teams. I think it would be better if FSU was ranked. Beating ranked opponents also improves our image in the mind of a recruit.

I also prefer the best of a team, not their worst. Give us everything they got. Beating crappy or beat down teams proves nothing. IMO

I agree with the 'beating down teams proves nothing', but losing every game we play against ranked teams doesn't prove alot either. And right now, we need to just start winning the gimmie games, and winning some games against good teams, but not ranked teams. We need to build; playing a very good ranked team will not build this teams confidence right now, as we do not have the depth or experience to play 60 minutes with them.
