Pretty sure he didn't. I hope we don't have to burn his redshirt this year.
Inquiring minds want to know. Didn't see him, but heard rumors he might in the pregame press.

Looked like the same OL that's been played the past two games..
They played Lockridge which I really don't understand..
Of course Smith caught a pass..
Other than that, I didn't see any other true freshman..
Celestine was out there
It's hard to see how they are going to make it through the season playing the same five o-linemen every minute of every game. But if they can redshirt him without taking a step back on the field and without getting Cody killed , that's good news for 5yrs from now.

Denver Post ....
Offensive line coach Jeff Grimes said Sunday the chances of true freshmen Ryan Miller and Kai Maiava making their college debuts Saturday against Miami (Ohio) have improved.
I would be shocked if he is ready. O-Line is the toughest position to come in and play well. You have to be a man, so to speak. Not that Ryan Miller isn't but he will be much more of a man, say 35 pounds more, next year. I say, don't blow his redshirt, give him time to develop and then unleash a beefed up stronger version next fall!

Well, if Miller can provide our O-line with some stepped up play, put him in. USC is starting a true freshman at center and we all saw what that o-line did against the vaunted (ha ha!) ****er pinkskirt defense.
I am with wyo keep the redshirts on:
Simas, Miller, Tau

It's Ryan's call. Miller is one of those guys who could just as easily bail to the NFL early as stick around for all 5 years.
It would suck if he red-shirted, only to leave CU during his Junior year.
Although the economics of being a lineman is such that I wouldn't second guess any decission he might make to "show me the money".
We'll cross that bridge when we get there.
I say play him if but only if he's an improvement to the line. The future of a player, especially a lineman, is very uncertain so if he's good enough to get in then put him in and let him live his dream. We have no idea how long we will get the keep him with injuries, a potential NFL career, etc.
Remember when we landed Schrader and everyone thought he was going to be a huge stud for us? I really hope Miller ends up being the 5 star stud we hope he will be and not another Markeesha but you never know. If the coaches think he can help I'd rather find out sooner rather than later if he's the real deal.

I agree. Although the o-line is so thin (have any of the 5 starters been out for even a play yet? Johnson and Zim didn't seem to think so Saturday night...) that it might be necessary to burn a redshirt or two just to have adequate depth as the season goes along. And if Miller is eventually going to be needed this season, it would be good to get him some live snaps this weekend.
And after the last couple weeks, it is not hard to imagine Miller being an upgrade over what we have seen at the OT spots, one in particular...![]()
