There could be several different reasons why. If you know the actual answer then I'll specifically address that. And regardless it still doesn't change the fact that you specifically didn't want him but then come on here and complain about the team's talent level everyday.
I don't think that JRK knows what the word "hypocrite" means. Either that or he's too stupid to realize that people can want to both upgrade talent and build back the culture that works for sustained success at CU. It's a process and the culture is the thing you can't compromise in an organization. But what do I know? I'm sure that our expert teenager will call upon his vast experience to clinic us all on how to build and run successful organizations while also imparting his wisdom on what works within the CU dynamic.
Hmm really, because it actually works perfectly the way I used it. Hypocrite: "A person who
acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings."
Ya of course they can and ideally that would be the way to go. But beggars can't be choosers...
That process involves getting quality players. If you're not getting it done on the recruiting trail (11th ranked class in the Pac-12) then you better get players in here through other means. And who says that culture can never be compromised? Like I said above ideally you wouldn't but if you have to so be it. And who's to say that Martin would "compromise the culture" anyways. He's been indecisive about where he wants to go to college and once got caught with weed, doesn't sound so bad to me. Did we compromise the culture when we added Paul Richardson? Plenty of "troubled" athletes have rewarded teams for taking a chance on them. It's worth the risk, and if it doesn’t work out it's not end of the world. Seeing this compromising of culture bs makes me think of Josh McDaniels philosophy when he took over the Broncos and Hawkins shrugging of loses the past few years beacuse he had a team full of "good guys."
Not Much?![]()
I’m a man, I’m 20.
Isn’t that what I always do here? I do appreciate you pointing out my vast experience and wisdom though, nice to know that my opinions are valued.

You're not a man. You're a twatwaffle to the 10th degree and a bitch.
I am rather excited to see Buffnik's response.
No pressure, though.
(Don't disappoint me.)
Only works if you're mischaracterizing those stated beliefs or feelings. Embree is acting in contradiction to your stated beliefs, not his. He has never said anything to indicate he doesn't value football character. That doesn't mean choir boys. But it does mean being a good teammate and being responsive to coaching.
Yes, you can be choosers. Bring in guys who won't do the things you're preaching that you expect from everyone else and you lose the team. Hawkins talked it. Embree is living it.
You can't compromise culture. It's who you are and what you stand for. You obviously want a different culture.
I'm not going to go into it regarding Martin, but you don't know the story here. It's not some weed and confusion of where to go to college. That's symptomatic of other things. Have you ever asked yourself why no program in the country stepped up and tried to bring in a 4*/5* talent?
You need to distinguish between off-field problems and football character. I don't give a **** if someone got in a fight, did some drugs, broke the law or had some academic issues. As long as they're in their playbooks, listen to coaches, show up on time for practice, love to compete, and make plays on gameday... they have football character. You can't bring in guys who don't. They destroy your organization. Regarding the other stuff, you just put them on a short leash because there are limits on behavior when they're part of the community and represent your organization. Martin would be at CU if it was a matter of having a minor possession charge on his record and having trouble deciding on a school. Embree's an NFL guy. He's a former player. He gets football character. He gets that it's a bottom line business.
Finally something I agree with.
You and Martin.
I'm amazed that Embree hasn't asked you to come in for weekly consulting meetings.
So is Chris Martin looking to join a D1 program next spring or fall after completing his year at Navarro JC?
