My previous post was a mistake. According to Scout, we were definitely the first program in with an offer.

So far, it looks like we've got about 30 offers out that have been reported. Since the schools can't talk about prospects, what gets reported totally depends on a whether the prospect has told a scouting service about the offer (and whether he was honest). Of the reported CU offers, there's no way to be certain how many are committable written offers and how many are verbal offers. September 1, 2009 was the first day that written offers could go out to juniors.

It's looking like 2011 will be a fairly small class for CU, though (only 14 seniors graduating next year). Going to their camps this summer is going to be vital for getting a CU offer. Looking at the Rivals list of guys with reported CU offers, a good number of them camped at CU last summer (Brendon Austin, Spencer Drango and Matthew Hegarty, for example, all attended the Big Man camp and have offers as o-linemen).

Edit: By "committable offer", I mean that the school would accept the verbal commitment. No official commitment can happen before National Signing Day (except for December graduates / early enrollees who can officially commit after they have graduated).

Rivals update from CU Junior Day:

"They really like me up there at CU and I really like the campus and the situation that I would be in if I went to play up there. My cousin J.J. [Billingsley] played [safety] up there [between 2002-06]."

Willingham does not plan to drag out his recruiting process.

"I want to make it as soon as possible so my senior season I don't have to worry about it," he said.

Willingham is not the only junior prospect at Mullen with an early offer. CU has also offered running back Adonis Ameen Moore and linebacker Brady Daigh recently picked up an offer from CSU.

We're going to have to worry about Texas stealing him up until signing day. But other than the UT threat, CU should be able to land Willingham. In fact, I'll consider it a recruiting failure if we don't.

(should be interesting to look back on this post a year from now )

Have the Mullen guys indicated anything that they'd like to all go to the same school?

Nope. And that type of group-think would be unusual for Mullen prospects. Who knows, though? Next year's Mullen class could very well be three-peat state 5a champions. I'd think that would build a lot of close bonds among the guys.

Yeah it seems like they all seem to go their own ways, but I was hoping this class wanted to stick together. At least maybe the linebacker crew would want to stick together, not very often all 3 linebackers are the same class and all have high level ability.

    Rayshon Williams (WR)
    Leilon Willingham (LB)

Also, anyone else from Mullen that should be on the 2011 watch list?
    1. Willingham: On the top of my in state wish list. (Dorian Brown is 2).
    2. Rayshaun Wiliams: Watch him play. Even with limited touches, the kid has all the talent in the world. If Marshall signs a long term contract with denver, I think he is CUs to lose.
    3. Ameen-More: You could swap this spot with which ever of the LBs you like. Moore is a big kid who is doing what someone with his size is supposed to do at the high school level. I dont expect to see the speed from him, but big backs are effective because they run with authority (which he does) but also have quickness and exceptional footspeed, which I dont see from AM....I am not taking away anything from the kid, he should have double digit offers....I just dont think he is the prospect Willingham and Williams are.
    4. Daigh: Better size than Healy, who is a very effective thumper in his own right.

After Willingham and Brown, I think Brendon Austin would round out my top three in staters

Austin and Willingham are 1A and 1B on my list for next season as far as in-staters go.

As far as Texas entering the picture for Willingham, I am not sure that will happen. If Texas can nab Jordan Hicks (5* LB out of OH), then the Longhorns will sign 4 LBs in this class (talk of 4* ATH Cobbs ending up at LB). They will most likely not be focusing on LB in the 2011 class as much. There are at least two LBs already scheduled to attend their junior days next month. One of them, Chet Moss, is a guy we are recruiting but I expect he and teammate Spencer Drango to commit then. JMO.

Hey, I am a Junior at Mullen, and I played football with all of these guys freshman year, except Adonis, who was automatically on varsity, and Rayshon, who was a transfer.

Anyway, I have to say, Leilon is a BEAST! I don't even know how to describe him other than that.

Connor Healy is just amazing in my opinion. He has always been big and buff and amazing at football, just like his older brother. I guess football just runs in his family, given that his grandpa was in the NFL and I think his dad was as well at one point. This guy is one of the nicest people I have met at Mullen. He has endurance too. Freshman year, he would play 2 games a day, one with the freshman (our coach was weird like that), and one with JV. And he did great every game. I can see him going to the NFL once he tightens up a bit more.

Adonis, he is just god-like. He is just simply amazing. I mean the defensive plan of Rockhurst was to basically have the whole defense tackle him because he wouldn't go down. On top of that, he's nice too, surprisingly. It is rare at Mullen to find people that good and not ****y.

Mancinelli, who I play lacrosse with, is a funny person. To be quite honest, I can't see him really wanting to go places in football. He is EXTREMELY talented at lacrosse. But he can go somewhere in Football. He just is kinda awkward, but then again, a lot of tall people are.

I dont really know much about Rayshon, I am pretty sure he transferred here sophomore year, after I stopped playing football. But I do know that he is good, and has a lot of potential.

Brady. I don't really have much to say about him. He was a bully freshman year, pretty bad. He might have matured since then, but I steer clear from him. But my opinion on him is biased, so don't see to much into it.

If you want to know anything about them, you can ask me. I can try to get you some answers
