I went back and made what I thought were the key points about D1 football transfers GREEN in my post. But honestly, I'm not sure how they interpret all the rules.

Yeah, now there's a vague one the ncaa could jump all over. I feel for the young man. Kinda sux having to sit the year when you weren't on scholarship to begin with. Hope it works out well for him.

I supposed if you took an official visit and were not offered. Which can happen.

But unless both Scout and Rivals have big gaps in their records, Ford did NOT visit KSU as a recruit, no official visit listed.

Awesome news....this guys was fun to watch, especially because him & Ameen Moore complemented each other very well at Mullen...he has the talent to make it & fight for some PT here, so a good addition to our depleted RB squad

My question was more of how do they define it. All invited or preferred walkons are recruited and I was one of them once upon a time a million years ago. My own kid was also one just a few years ago. I do not believe the rules are different. Recruiting rules are the rules.

As someone previously pointed out, the plumber/RB from Nebraska who had tried to walk-on at NU and Callahan wouldn't consider him went to class that whole year and still had to sit 1 year at CU due to transfer. Never played for NU or appeared on a roster.

Yeah, the "Welder" (can't think of his name). Thot that was a raw deal, since he was a walk-on and hadn't received any help from the previous school.
