Harrington will visit this weekend and likely leaves a commitment if he gets an offer.
why a JUCO LB? Those classes seem pretty bloated.
I cannot figure out the LB recruiting for the life of me, so you got me.
We were looking to add a JUCO LB from early on but lost Derek Earls to Arizona. Once Hartigan moved to DE, it left a hole in the junior class. The rule of thumb is to have 2 scholarship LBs in every class.
I like the move if we end up signing him. Good speed, too.
I think we are just plain thin at LB and we need immediate help.
Rivals article
Harrington, a 6-foot, 220-pounder, makes an official recruiting trip to Colorado this weekend. He says if the Buffaloes offer him a scholarship, he's ready to accept.
"They're my No. 1 choice," Harrington said. "I've always liked Colorado and the Big 12. I really like how sincere their coaches are, and I can really feel they want to win."
Harrington played at Bowie (Md.) High and said he didn't have much recruiting interest as a 6-foot, 195-pound "'tweener" that needed to improve his SAT score.
"That's when I heard from College of the Canyons," he said. "I was a 'tweener, but they said they would help me get to the next level. That's what College of the Canyons has done for me."
Harrington said he put on about 10 pounds before his freshman and sophomore years to get up to 220. He played outside linebacker at College of the Canyons, but he said he can play inside or outside if that's what Colorado prefers.
From before the season, a blip from Scout's preview of College of the Canyons:
LB Evan Harrington – “He’s going to play the middle for us and he’s a smart and solid player. He’s really physical at the point and I think he’s got enough speed to play outside if necessary, but he’ll be inside for us this fall.”

Here are Evan's stats this year at College of the Canyons:
11 Games, 63 Tackles (39 solo / 24 assisted), 9.5 Sacks, 2 QB hurries, 2 Forced Fumbles, 1 Interception
Stats
Well I like his speed that's for sure. Seems odd to me that they're going after a JUCO LB with all of the high school options we have. I know we lost like 4 guys this year, but I thought we had some pretty promising guys ready to step in next year.
Prepare to get excited about Evan Harrington. New video on Youtube. He's a tackling machine who buries guys when he hits them. Plays with a mean streak and a ton of intensity. Regardless, if Cabral believes he can play then he can play.
#19 in the video. Usually lines up at left inside linebacker. Sometimes walks up outside left end as a pass rusher.
pretty impressive film. I don't care how many stars he's got, this guy can play.
I like that he fights through lead blocks instead of taking a side.

A tv commentator once described Jashon Sykes as such...."he gets there fast and arrives angry". This guy shows some of those flashes. I wouldn't mind him being a Buff.
