Q: How they looking Hawk?
Dan Hawkins: Good Attitude, Good Effort- many little things to clean up!
CU could really do more on the social networks IMO.
So todays practice wasn't the best of the week?
Tommy Tuberville about social networks and Web 2.0 -> http://collegesportsblog.dallasnews....edicts-ho.html
If done right, it can be a great thing to get in touch with fans, recruits etc. and give you a great opportunity. I donīt want to start a political discussion here, but Obama showed how you can use Web 2.0 (FB, Twitter) to your advantage.
At least make people feel like you appreciate them and give them some insight, donīt treat everything like itīs a matter of national security. Itīs give and take .... if you gave me something,, Iīd be far more inclined to give something back to you.

The fact that Dan Hawkinsī profile on Facebook is a private one where he needs to approve you is a joke. On Hawkīs profile, most of the messages are from the user ... compare Hawkīs FB to Tommy Tubervilleīs.
The school needs to look after its PR here.
Make the fans feel appreciated and give them some insight. You donīt want to disclose everything, of course, but just give them something "exclusive" and something they donīt read in the BDC over their morning coffee. Make people feel like theyīre part of the whole thing and not just outsiders who should be thankful for every quote. Donīt treat it like itīs a matter of national security.
Dan Talkins couldn't pay me to follow his lame act on facebook and twitter or whatever else he wants to put out there.. All it is is just more If he was standing inside my living room talking I would ignore him.. Win some damn games for a change and maybe I'll start respecting him as a coach.. BTW he's 5-16 in his last 21 games.. I think he should be working on improving other things (i.e. his pathetic coaching) than his facebook status or whatever other nonsense he wants to put out there.
Now maybe for the next coach should CU start using these "social networks" more.. I'm guessing it wouldn't hurt..

Don't you guys get it?!?!
This is not a Dan Hawkins thing. This is a CU THING!!!!
CU does not want its head coach doing the social networking thing. CU does not want any information whatsoever getting outside of it's own scope of control. Dave Plati and the band of fools running the athletic department don't want anyone or anything to have any information whatsoever that THEY did not approve of and dissemenate! This has been the M.O. of the CU athletic department for 20 years now!!! Changing coaches isn't going to change that attitude.
