    Here's his bio from Scout:

Played his 2009 junior season at Gardena (Calif.) Serra, helping the Cavs to the CIF State D-III title, throwing for 3,500 yards, 44 touchdowns and 8 picks and a 15-0 record.
Threw for 2,100 yards and rushed for 400 yards and threw 20 touchdowns as a 2008 sophomore at Palisades (Calif.) High.

    Academically, has a 4.3 GPA.

CU stepped up today with Preston's first BCS offer. It looks like June Jones has been recruiting him hardest to SMU, which speaks highly of his ability as a QB.

Embree After SMU's Verbal QB Connor Preston

    http://www.calihighsports.com/

Preston has long proven he is a winner and with his incredible play schools are trying to lure him away from him current verbal commitment to Southern Methodist. New Colorado coach Jon Embree has been going hard after Preston and has made clear the Buffs scholarship offer to Preston issued by Dan Hawkins is still on the table.

“I am still 100% committed to SMU but any school that takes the time to actually call me, follow up and really try and get to know me I’m going to take a look at them,” Preston explained.

“Colorado is a great school academically and I have taken an unofficial visit there before so I know the campus and it’s just a beautiful place to go to school. I know Coach Embree is going to want to really throw the ball and whip it around so I will keep talking to them,” Preston said.

Nick Sherry, Brock Berglund and now after Preston? Three QB's?

Sherry didn't seem too committed to the Buffs without Kiesau. Maybe Embree knows something ??

As I said in chat, any quarterback that June Jones wants is a quarterback who can play.

If he can bring his receiver George Farmer with him, then totally worth it!

Uhhh, this kid better be ready to hand the ball off more than he whips it around. Throwing is nice but he needs to know that the run will set up all those tosses he wants to make.

does that have to do with recruiting him?

Gotta say tho, his vids did not impress.

Don't discout the long-range thinking that might be going on here. Embree knows how important it is to build a relationship with the Serra coaches and to get a pipeline going into there.

It has to do with JE/EB stating that we are going to be a pro style offense that runs the ball to set up the pass. If this kid thinks we are running the spread and throwing on first down, he will pissed off and leave right away.

I thought we are looking for players to fit out system and identity... This was Hawk's whole problem. Remember getting Scott and then trying to still be a pass offense and handing him the ball from the gun. That didnt work so well.

Speaking of Scott, a player like that with his potential would be great right now... Too bad he couldnt have come along this year instead of previously.
