Katy’s all-time leading tackler Grant Clifton verbally committed on Christmas Eve to play football for Navy.

The 230-pound senior linebacker said he made his commitment to the Midshipmen on Christmas Eve, and he’s pleased to be involved with a national program.


“I didn’t really plan to commit on the 24th, but I had been thinking about it. And I did it as a present to my grandparents,” the Tiger senior said. “The Navy is a respected program, and it’s what they represent that I like. It was an obvious choice for me to go with Navy. Their education is second to none, and their football program is really good. It seems like the right place for me and my future.”
