Kevin Bailey is one of those freak athletes who at least once a game makes a play that takes the fans breath away. Something so incredible and jaw dropping it almost doesn't seem possible for a 17 year old.
Bailey easily and often finishes above the rim. He has great foot speed and surprising agility for a a guy his size. He is one of those rare guys who just when you think he is running at full speed, will turn it up another gear in order to blow by his defender. He is one of the best leapers in the entire country.
Bailey gets off the ground extremely quickly and fluidly. He can dunk by just jumping from two feet stationary under the hoop and explodes when he gets a running start and takes off from one foot.
More then just incredible athleticism Bailey has the perfect body for a rangy small forward. He has the wingspan of somebody 6'8 or 6'9 and has a good, strong frame that has room to put more weight on. Bailey is also one of those 'high motor' players who does a great job of keeping active on every play.
Bailey's athleticism and constant activity predictably make him an ideal defender. He has such long arms with big hands that is he able to poke a lot of balls away on steals and bother guards trying to make entry passes to the post. He is an excellent shot blocker who alters every shot when he just gets his hands up. He is so fast he can catch up with the opposing team in transition and is a solid one-on-one and on ball defender.
On the offensive side of the ball Bailey is best in transition. He runs the open court like a gazelle and can slam the ball with rim rocking authority. His ball skills and jumper have improved over the last year but still could use some work.
Overall Bailey is an incredibly gifted athlete who each year is becoming a better and better basketball player.
