The Black Out in Berkeley - Wear your black!

Another roll call -- who's in?

Remember to WEAR YOUR BLACK (you don't want to be mistaken for a Bears fan by wearing Cal yellow).

The Pac-12 Boulder-Berkeley rivalry begins Saturday...

Anyone know if our band is going to be there? Can't imagine why we wouldn't bring them along since our athletic department has made this the signature away game of the season. It would sure be nice to sing Fight CU to some brass.

    GO BUFFS!

I'll be there + 12 others. Everyone will be in black.

I think CU is bringing the prep band, so only about 15 of them will show up. It would have been more but the budget didn't allow for it.

Also, CU won't be bringing Ralphie due to the construction that's going on right now at Memorial Stadium.

Can anyone recommend a store in the south side of Denver that has a decent selection of CU apparel? Already have a black CU sweater but need a t-shirt.

I know...I can't believe Cal wouldn't have a dome stadium when it gets that cold in September...

No, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that there is a sports apparel shop on Concourse A at DIA that carries CU Buffs gear. Not a great selection, but there is a rack of black and gold, including black tank tops with a small CU logo for the ladies. It was somewhere near Gate 40, if that helps.

I made a mental note to pick up some items on my last return trip, but forgot in the rush to get home.

Berkeley weather not the same as SF weather

Hi all! First time Cal fan posting here. Don't make apparel decisions based on SF weather in September. SF is cold in September, but the East Bay (where Berkeley is) gets hot in the afternoon once the morning haze/fog burns off. It then gets cool in the evening once the sun goes down. Your best bet is to wear clothing in layers. Bring your sunscreen and drink plenty of fluids.

I live in LA so I don't get to attend many Cal home games, but I was just there last Saturday (vs. UCD) and it was a gorgeous, sunny day in the 90s. The Bay Area is just beautiful this time of year, so I hope many of you can come out and enjoy once of the nicest destinations in the Pac-10/12 (all except the game, of course)!

Hi Ginsu. Welcome. Hope you stick around as we start playing regularly in the Pac-12.

btw, we're joking about the weather. On a Cal board, they were saying that we would roast if we did a black out since it was likely to be 80 degrees at kickoff.

I wore black yesterday, it was 95 degrees at Invesco, and you know what?

I could not have cared less. It was a glorious day to be a buff fan.

Me too. Only I went to Invesco on Saturday.

But I was wearing one of those new fibers that wicks sweat and is supposed to be cooler than not having a shirt on at all. So that's probably why I didn't end up in the hospital.

Frick. Has it been two days since that game? I just watched the replay at noon, and it seems like yesterday I watched my guys clobber (if gently, still clobber) the poor lost lil' lambs.
