Bohn hates Hawk and wants Hawk gone. He was ready to fire Hawk last year
I have been writing Bohn since last year telling him he needed to get rid of Hawkins...but you can tell that he's not going anywhere. Rumors abound, but to Bohn and Co. we are 3-2. Heck, that's a wining record! Why are the fans complaining? (you can almost hear him thinking).
This guy isn't going to be fired until AT LEAST we are eliminated from a bowl (and probably not until the season is over). If we DO go to a bowl, heaven help us, Hawk may not be fired at all. Firing Hawkins for Bohn is the same as saying he screwed up, and the guy just doesn't want to do that.
I would love to believe all the hype, but I am finally coming to the realization that they don't care what we think (and in fact, Bohn and Co. are starting to remind me a bit of Hawk...the more we clamor and threaten, the more they almost want to shove it in our face as a way of showing us who's really in charge).
We are in this boat for a while guys. Sad to say. Can we PLEASE hire some CU alums for the A.D. job? Bohn has no clue what tradition and bleeding Black and Gold means (and unless it concerns a donation from a wealthy alum, he doesn't care).

Really? Any proof for that statement? (sorry, specifically the part about trying to fire Hawk last year...not the growing up part)
He won't be fired until the end of the season. He could still save his job with 8 wins, which means he has to win all the remaining home games and 1 road game. Highly unlikely, but looking at our home schedule and at KU, it is not out of the realm of possibility. 7 wins with a road victory at KU and a loss at home is a big maybe. Lose every road game, regardless of home record he is gone. Sadly we just have to put up with it for a while longer.
There is no place like Nebraska...THANK GOD!!!!
"I went to State" could mean a hundred different places. "I went to Colorado" can only mean one.
Let's keep our fingers crossed (but how do you root against the Buffs? I find it impossible during games, no matter how much I tell myself it might be in our long term interests)
The prospect of us getting 8 nondescript wins scares the hell out of me. And yes, I think it's quite possible. I'm not optimistic or drinking the kool-aid, just fearful.
Okay...did the search (and I remember that time well, and the rumors that were circulating) I didn't see anything here other than the same sort of rumors we have now. Obviously, Bohn's a businessman who realizes you can't very well tell everyone what you are thinking (if you have lost confidence in the coach), which is why I didn't expect to find anything concrete...and I didn't.
I don't think it is worth an argument (after all...in the end I suppose it doesn't matter), but I see no evidence that Bohn feels as we do. In fact, circumstantial evidence would indicate that he probably doesn't. What seems stupid though, from a business standpoint, is staying the course right now if you don't think that he's going to turn things around and be "The Man" for a long time to come. There are TONS of reasons to let him go now and few arguments to let him stay. The money isn't as much of an issue as it was last year (since each year we owe him less) and the sooner the rebuilding process starts (and the sooner we can start selling recruits on the prospects of a new regime) the better. Attendance would pick up (or at least not drop off as much) as well.
So, why are we dithering? What is the point? Can you think of any legitimate arguments besides the money? Unless he thinks we are all wrong about Hawkins and he thinks he has a chance to turn things around for the long term. If he really thinks that, one would have to conclude that he doesn't understand the rudiments of football.
Quite possibly the most ill-informed, ignorant, and flat out incorrect thing ever posted on allbuffs. And that's saying something.
You're aware, I'm sure, that Bohn is a Boulder native, grew up selling cokes at Folsom, and had accepted a scholarship offer to play for Bill Mallory that was revoked when Chuck Fairbanks got the job, right? Bohn bleeds more black and gold than anybody else in the athletic department. ANYBODY ELSE. You're so incredibly off base with this statement it makes me question your motives.
Firing Hawk mid season does nothing for us, except cost cu money. Relax, he's gone at year end. The Colorado media has hammered CU every way it could over the last 20 years, but at least now it's to our advantage. Do you think The admin can ignore Woody Paige writing that Hakins is "finger painting" game plans? They can ignore the message board freaks, but not the traditional media.
