    WBB: 2011 Recruiting Class

    http://www.cubuffs.com/ViewArticle.d...&DB_OEM_ID=600

As previously reported and profiled, Lexy Kresl (5'11" guard from Arizona) and Jasmine Sborov (6'1" guard from Texas) have committed to Colorado. It has been confirmed that both have signed LOIs with CU.

Also, a couple new names popped up during the early signing period. Jen Reese is a 6'2" forward from Oregon. She was the Gatorade Player of the Year in Oregon as a junior.

From the CU Buffs article linked above:

"The campus is beautiful," Reese said. "I love the mountains. The school seems to have great academic support for the athletes. I met the chancellor (Phil DiStefano) and he was amazing. Everyone cares for the students which I liked."

A two-time, first team all-state pick, Reese averaged 21 points, 12.4 rebounds, two steals and 1.9 blocks as a junior. She notched 18 double-doubles in 24 games, picking up her second straight Three Rivers League MVP honor.

"Jen is a physical power forward who can post up against bigger players as well as knock down the outside shot," Lappe said. "She has a nice feel for the game and has great hands and feet. She understands what it takes to play at a high level and will increase our depth in the post position."
Reese announced last Wednesday at a news conference, choosing Colorado over offers from Oregon State and Kansas State. http://highschoolsports.oregonlive.c...sion-a-secret/

Here's a bit from the ESPN Hoopgurlz profile on Reese:

She is the enforcer that every team must have to keep the energy going and the battle inside alive.
    Welcome the the Buffs!

The possible 4th signee would be Arielle Roberson. She's the younger sister of Andre Roberson on the men's team. From what I could find on the web, it sounds like she's got a similar game. She's a 6'2" forward with an inside-outside game. She was being recruited by Boston College, Miami, San Diego State, Texas and Texas Tech (among others). But it appears her final 2 are Colorado and NC State. Keep your fingers crossed. She would be a great get for the program.

Arielle Roberson had given a verbal commitment to play for the Buffs!

She averaged 18 ppg this year while leading her team to the Texas 5A semi-finals.

Great get for Lappe and her Buff squad!

Signing in the spring must run in the family.

Great get for Lappe and her Buff squad!
Says a lot about Tad Boyle and the men's program as well, doesn't it? Andre' must be loving it here. (Not to step on the women's thread. Sounds like the ladies are turning it around just like the guys.)

Lexy Kresl Bio from ESPN's HoopGurlz:

    3*-87 Grade; #69 Guard
Shadow Mountain HS (Paradise Valley, AZ)
    Club Team: Arizona Swish

July 10:Long, thin guard with a much younger appearance than her age. Legitimate offensive threat with a jumper that has high altitude arch on it. Can put it on the floor to a degree and has the ability to read off screens. Shot selection still needs to evolve where she's just as willing to make the pass as well as the shot. (Lewis)

Boo Williams-April 10: Lots of offensive tools and effort. Unfortunately that didn't come with a quality shot selection. She has a decent stroke that she really gets up in the air. Her ability to put it on the floor can create at times and her size gives her a good presence on the perimeter. On the defensive end she's active and aggressive. Her athleticism isn't the first thing you notice it wouldn't be a drawback either.

TOC Dec. 08: Young with a lean build but decent size. She has solid ballhandling skills which allows her to slash to the rim quite a bit. The left hand is weak and will need to come along to keep defenders on their toes. Her instincts are good and she passes the ball well. Her perimeter shot has a push to it but does seem to connect. Watch.

Arielle Roberson's bio from ESPN's HoopGurlz:

    3*-88 Grade; #63 F
    Karen Wagner H.S. (Converse, TX)

Texas UIL-March 11: Roberson is one of the nation's top unsigned prospects. She has face-up ability and is effective rebounding the basketball on the defensive end off the floor. 6-1 senior forward from Wagner (San Antonio) along with the aforementioned Watkins provided the Thunderbirds with a quality one-two punch. One of the nation's top unsigned prospects, Roberson has face-up ability and is effective rebounding the basketball on the defensive end off the floor. (Clay)

USJN DC-July 10: Long and athletic forward. Can put it on the floor and attack from the high post as well as the wing. Has the agility to defend inside and out. (Lewis)

Jen Reese bio from ESPN's HoopGurlz:

    Unrated Post
    Clackamas H.S. (Clackamas, OR)

End of the Trail-July 10: There is not a team in this country that would not benefit from having Reese on their squad. At the EOT, the 6-foot-2 Oregonian made her presence known. Reese is a hard-working big who can be counted on to always get the job done. She understands how to position herself both offensively and defensively to keep her actively involved involved in the play. She gets up and down the court well and fits in nicely with her TC Heat team who favors the transition game. She has a strong frame and is solid throughout her shoulders. She uses that strength to battle for position inside or clean up on the glass. She can be counted on to muscle inside for good position, chase down a rebound, or get on the floor in a battle for a loose ball. She is the enforcer that every team must have to keep the energy going and the battle inside alive. (Howe)

Note: ESPN hasn't updated her profile to show that she has signed with CU.
