Is this a PWO or would we really use a schollie on a K this year?

edit: not that we couldn't use one, just seems more likely next cycle.

I'm sure they would love to see a PWO - but Embree has not been clear, and Brookhardt hasn't said yet what his plans are recruiting-wise.
This late in the recruiting cycle, looking for a strong in-state PWO candidate may be our best option.

our 2 returning kickers have question marks imo in terms of being able to get the ball up quick enough - saw a lot of low liners in practice in 2010. Aric's kicks were much higher in trajectory. Hopefully J.D. has this well understood and will be able to make some sound decisions. Hate to use another scholarship on a kicker/punter, but hate to NOT do so and wish we had.......

Nate's college future is uncertain at this time as he has a bigger battle to fight and win.

He was diagnosed with Leukemia just after the first of this year, and is undergoing chemotherapy at this time.
A statement with more information was posted on the Colorado Prep Board (non-premium Rivals board).

When you have a chance, send him some allbuffs karma, or any karma you've got handy. He's a good kid and I have a feeling he'll be back kicking as soon as he can. He's still trying to get healthy soon enough to rejoin the Ponderosa swim team this spring.

Not only was Nate Colorado's 4-A all-state kicker this year, but he was also named an All American -- one of three in Ponderosa's history:
    All-American Football Players from Ponderosa
    John Anest (05)
    Jon Major (07)
    Nate Ekhoff (10)

I'll be sending some powerful good thoughts his way.
