Reported Offers: New Mexico, Towson State
Per Scout:
... plans to make his decision around signing day in order to see what other offers come his way. He is also hearing from Colorado, Maryland, Ohio, Temple and Western Kentucky.
Per Rivals:
Gongbay has offers from New Mexico and Towson. He's waiting to see if he academically qualifies, which is probably the reason he hasn't received more offers.
I like the way he runs, physical, with cut back ability, he looks like a RB.
Pretty good looking back, though his 4.5 speed looks a little slower than Creer's 4.6 speed.
Any news on this guy, was he offered.
Kind of busy?

Late season stats, November 5, 2010
With 234 yards rushing, the senior halfback eclipsed 2,000 yards by the end of the regular season. He is the county's first public schooler to reach the milestone since the turn of the century. Damascus' Evan Zedler rushed for 2,261 in 2007, but took four playoff games to do so.
Gongbay also scored four touchdowns against the Bengals (1-9), bringing his season total to 33 as a complement to his 2,013 yards.
He is also just 3 yards short of 5,000 yards in three varsity seasons.
December 2010 update:
Other "big names," according to Maryland Crab Bowl CEO Sean O'Connor, include Rockville senior Crusoe Gongbay, who rushed for more than 5,000 yards in three varsity seasons, and Quince Orchard linebacker Alex Twine. Gongbay has "no clue" as to his college destination, while Twine -- only a full-time starter as a senior -- recently landed an offer from the University of Maryland.
Bigtime talent, derailed by poor grades in 9th and 10th grade.

Gongbay still must raise his standardized-test score in order to meet NCAA initial eligibility requirements. If he can, expect other schools that have scholarship slots unexpectedly open to make a push for Gongbay, who rushed for 5,137 yards and 71 touchdowns the past three seasons - more than anyone else in the area by far over that span. What has limited recruiters from pursuing Gongbay has been his academic record from the first half of his high school career, of which he spoke candidly in a Post profile last November.
Gongbay races past opponents, against time
"... I've got a lot to make up. Nobody ever sat me down [before high school] and told me how big this was."
and he racked up those yards playing no more than 3 quarters in most games, he was pulled out in 4th.
Crusoe Gongbay and his awesome name are taking their game to New Mexico per Scout.
