    Thanks, JRK.

LA Times listed Jacobs among its SoCal DBs to watch for the 2010 season ("Safety who makes big plays"): http://articles.latimes.com/2010/sep...chart-20100901

This is another prospect who showed well at the Badger Sport 7v7 last weekend. That camp is the place to go if you want to prove yourself to the western scouts.

Watch out for the ASU offer. DC Craig Bray coached Jacobs' dad at Idaho.

At 6'2" I was surprised to see that he was always the low man with every tackle and block shed. Good stuff

he is huge for a safety. But with 4.5 speed in high school I see probably closer to 4.4 in college with some training. And if he keeps that weight... I would hate to be a wide receiver...

I still don't get why people believe Recruiting 40 times. They are all hogwash. Every kid not a lineman is at worst a 4.6. Right.

I agree. In the picture above, he looks like he'll take your head off if you even consider going over the middle.

We are recruiting him as an OLB, not as a safety.

Scout has an excellent new interview with Jacobs up: The next great LB in Boulder?

They've also put an initial 3* rating on Jacobs and ranked him as the #24 Safety prospect in the nation.

Either way with his speed and size... he is going to make people hurt.

I think he has solid speed, but it is a bit hard to tell from highlights. Keep in mind that the football in that region of California is not quite as strong as elsewhere in the state. His team did show pretty well in the playoffs before bowing out though.

Talent evaluation is not what I do for a living, but I do live in Central Coast Cali, so I'll try to check out some of his games this fall and let you know what my impressions of him are. Of course, if he commits to someplace else before then, I won't waste time.

He recently picked up an offer from Arkansas (they seem to be all over the place this year). Would love to load up on LBs in the class and Jacobs is quickly becoming one of the more coveted prospects in California. I like that we are going after some bigger 'backers too.

Looks like he could be a very nice player at LB. Is he scheduled for a visit?
