Recap of the Fort Worth Nike Training Camp:
Duncanville WR Jeffrey Thomas passes the eyeball test without question, but he's got the quick feet of a slot receiver and showed the ability to get vertical on the cornerbacks.

I really like his film.
Duncanville has a great basketball tradition too. They dominated when I lived down there much like Yates does now. Like his size, wonder if he plays basketball too?
I think the number on his t-shirt is a sign.

"I'm very interested in Colorado," he said. "They're at the top of my list right now."
Thomas developed a relationship with Kennedy when at the UT camp last year. He'll be making an unofficial to CU, maybe camping here, and is likely to commit in the summer before school.
Looks like he has real good hands. He kind of stumble-runs on a couple of plays, looks like he's going to fall down every step of 10/20 yards. Funny his film says 6'4", 190, 4.5 40.
We thought about it for a long time, "Endeavor to persevere." And when we had thought about it long enough, we declared war on the Union. - Lone Watie, The Outlaw Josey Wales
The 4.7 concerned me at first, but if you watch the tape he's really quick. Let him put 30 pounds on and he'll be a hell of a good target for our QB.
Yeah, I had meant to add that both of those stumbles went for TDs, too.![]()
I know the offer list is really underwhelming, but this kid has a lot of potential IMO. He may need a few years in the program before it "clicks," but he could be a good WR at the college level. He has questionable speed, but he has decent ball skills and could be a completely different player if he bulked up by 15-20 pounds.

This dude looks like he can put on quite a bit of weight. He has the frame anyway. I hope we get him.
Part of the reason for the offer list being light is that he was injured as a junior, missed a good chunk of the season, and had mediocre season stats (great on a per game basis, though). On top of that, he switched schools. He's definitely known in recruiting circles, but his stock is lower than it should be due to these factors. Type of player who is likely to blow up as he attends camps and putting up senior numbers.
The kid looks great. We can win with a guy like this. He's only rated a 3* but this is the type that blows up and everybody wonders how they missed on him.
Would love to get a few underrated WR's like this. Good release from the LOS, better speed than advertised, nice hands, and very good when the balls in the air.
Thomas showed well at the Cal camp and the Oklahoma camp. He is slowly starting to pick up more offers and I expect that to continue throughout the summer.
Good WR that really needs to put on weight, but hoping Kennedy can work his connections here.
This guy is a must get IMO. Screw the 3* rating, we need this type of player in the pass/run game. Exactly who you need to run the WCO we are installing. As a Bronco fan all my life, watching Easy Ed McCaffrey and Rod Smith block in the running game with the tenacity of a pulling guard, and then bootleg/PA/ 5 step drop teams to death was a deadly combo. This guy has the polish of a player who could come in right away, play, and put up good stats. I'd treat him like a four/five star target at WR.
Love the in-roads we're making in Texas, even if others are sleeping on the prospects. These guys can ball.
