Here's what the Denver Post had to say when they named Dalton to the All-Colorado team as a junior:Averaged 47.5 yards per kick with a long of 68 yards. Also served as the team's place-kicker.
Take a look at the entire 2010 All-Colorado team here...He not only boomed his punts, he could place them as if throwing darts.
MaxPreps also named Dalton to 1st Team All-West Metro 5A for 2010. link
It looks as if Grossnickle may get a shot to win the placekicking duties now that we've brought in Brundage. Grossnickle was actually more highly rated as a kicker than punter out of high school, so it could be the right place for him. Even if he stays at Punter, he'll be a sophomore in 2011. That would make him a junior in 2012 and we could redshirt a freshman punter while having him available as an emergency backup in case of injury. We could even consider a grayshirt offer and push it back a year. We've also got a ton of scholarships available this cycle.
Usually there's no rush with specialists, so the staff can probably wait until fall camp and see how things shake out. Dalton's a local kid to keep an eye on, though.
The soul patch he's sporting is sweet. Punter with an attitude.
ST players on scholarship
K- Will Oliver, castor, Grosnikle
Punter- Brundage, Grosnickle
Brundage averaged 44 yard per punt on 26 attempts, expect that average to go up playing in Colorado.
Grosnickle disapoiinting 37 yards per punt on 60 attempts, playing half of the time in Colorado.
Dalton would be a nice pick up for Colorado.
