Summitt is stepping aside and will be "head coach emeritus". Longtime assistant Holly Warlick will be the new head coach.
Hate seeing it end this way. Too bad they couldn't win it last year, but hopefully they can get it this year for Pat.

Too sad. Pat will be missed.
That's making official the roles that Summitt and Warlick basically played this past season. I think it's a good choice. Pat was clearly not the same person. Sad to see this happen but I think the people involved have made the right decisions. Keeping Pat associated with the Lady Vol program is good becasue she still means so much to their program and the game in generalo.
Hopefully she can still play a role with the school as well. Not sure how far advanced it is right now, but she IS the Tennessee program. God, she's the first thing I think of when I think of that school.

I talked to a Tennessee fan during a layover on my way to the Final Four. According to her, the fans were wanting Pat to step aside as it was so painful to watch her on the sidelines and for Holly to be the head coach.
It is very sad. Pat is the same age as me.
I think of Coach Barry when I think of women's basketball.
Pat is actually on my bucket list of people I would like to meet.
