We're not listed as an official offer, but there's some rumors that we are going after Newton. Don't know if the interest is mutual, but here's hoping.

IIRC, I've read that she is delaying official visits etc until after she completes her HS basketball season which means she will be a spring signee. It would be great if we could get her.
Confirmation of "mutual interest" today on HoopGurlz. She is having in-home visits, not officials on campus at this point. Unusual.
" Je Zhe Newton, a 6-foot-4 post from Chandler, Ariz., ....is entertaining nine schools over 11 days. ...Washington ...Rutgers, Boston College, Colorado, Illinois, Louisville, Missouri, UNLV and Washington State. Newton plans to make her decision after the high school season ends. "
BeBe, do you think she'll take officials once her school season ends?
By the way, notice that she is now described as a 6'4" post when on other places in HoopGurlz she is described as a 6'2" forward. A 6'4" post ranked in the top 100 would be a nice finish to our 2012 class.
ESPN HoopGirlz has an update on Newton. The nation's #66 prospect will wait for the spring to sign and CU is firmly in the mix.
But some light has been shed on her process as the 6-foot-2 forward-post lists Boston College, Colorado, Illinois, Missouri, Rutgers, UNLV, Utah and Washington as her top schools, according to her club team coach, Greg Strickling of GSB.

She's missing her senior year with a torn ACL.
That's tough. Still hoping to see her choose the Buffs this spring.

That's sad, especially for her final hs year. Get better soon young lady!
We should have listened to Colorado fans.
Damn. Hoopgurlz:
The 6-foot-3 post, who is ranked No. 66 in the ESPNU HoopGurlz 100, has Illinois, Rutgers, Southern Cal, UNLV and Washington as her finalists, according to her club coach, Greg Strickling of GSB Basketball.
Seems she changed her mind again. BlueStar has her committing to Georgia Tech, a school that wasn't even in the list of suppossed finalists. At least the Buffs won't have to face her in the PAC.
