I've got a question regarding our false starts. At least twice the Utah lineman jumped causing our lineman to jump back. I thought the official could call the D lineman for causing the O lineman to jump. I guess I was mistaken.

If the defensive player does not enter the "neutral zone" the offensive player must stay still.
In that case, the call on Lewis was bullshit.
Poorly officiated game. nuff said.
If it's the play I'm thinking of, he was WAY into the neutral zone. Oh well. The officiating sucked regardless. The no call on the face mask followed by the call on Orms damn near cost us the game. Sometimes I think CU is a victim of some sort of unjustified reputation.
A defensive player can move, but there is a stipulation that they can't lure an offensive player into a false start. Seldom called, tho, just like a defender barking out snap counts (which happens).

Your right, but this was one of those games where discipline was still lacking. When they start getting rid of some of those drive killing penalties then the scores will be higher.
Shouldn't have been that close but I am glad it was.
This team needed a road win. Going into the off-season they needed that monkey off their backs so they could look forward to next season and prepare in a positive state of mind.
In the course of the road losing streak they have managed to lose in a variety of ways from getting blown out by Missouri and unfortunately Toledo to the giant Kansa comeback. The ones that hurt the most and that stick in the heads the most are those like the Nebraska game that they lost on the last second long-distance field goal. This win was huge but for their pysches this kind of a win was even better. They had to see somethng go their way, to not lose a game in the last seconds, to not have something go wrong costing them the game.
Knowing that they can have a game go down to last play on the road and win, and against a hot team as well, is important.
If not for the spectacular interceptions by Dizon and TWheat against TT Hawk NEVER would have won on the road. Dizon had a pick 6, I believe, and TWheat held Crabtree to 1 TD and 100 yards, but he had 3 interceptions. One in fact that he ripped apart from Crabtree's hands. Those guys were great Buffs.
Hawk had plenty of close games, like UGA and Bugeaters, but his teams never finished any games. That 08 fuskers game was heart wrenching. We were dominated on both sides of the ball, but their O was miserable so we stood a chance; if Utah had won yesterday it would have felt like that again, but this time we were the team that should have put them away. Henery was a Buff killer that game and sank the all time school record on a fg. Then Cody threw a pick 6 to Suh. Smith did perhaps one of the best "interceptions" in that game on their fake fg.

We beat a bailer squad without Rg3. That's even more pathetic. That or the OT loss we had to them with BJax throwing the INT when we needed just a fg to tie. Ugh.
The more I reflect on Hawk the more I realize what a complete failure he was. He didn't know Xs and Os nor was he a good leader. He was a fraud through and through.
now that the season is over, i feel more comfortable bitching about the officiating. ****** teams don't get calls. but, damn... throughout our new conference, i saw some breathtakingly bad ****ing calls this season. they have to upgrade the officiating to match all that tv money. it should be a top priority for larry scott. this lack of quality will end up costing a worthy p12 team a shot at a national championship in the next few years if they don't get it fixed. our total craptastic selves aside, they need to invest in fixing this so that we get teams into the hunt.
