SEC schedule... not kind to A&M

    Twitter has some gems.

    http://www.secdigitalnetwork.com/NEW...-schedule.aspx

    TEXAS A&M
    Sept. 8: FLORIDA
    Sept. 29: vs. Arkansas
    Oct. 6: at Ole Miss
    Oct. 20: LSU
    Oct. 27: at Auburn
    Nov. 3: at Mississippi State
    Nov. 10: at Alabama
    Nov. 24: MISSOURI

The SEC just took off the wedding dress, lit a smoke and told A&M about her 3 Ukranian brothers coming to live with them.

SEC schedule out. By season's end, they gonna be able to thread a Star Destroyer through Aggy's ass.

I think they'd be playing most of those teams anyway. From what I can gather, the only team from the SEC East they have to play is Florida, and Florida is sucking pretty bad these days (in comparison to what they've been, anyhow). Plus, they get the Gators at home.

What did they expect? The SEC is a tough conference.

+1. Looks about right to me. Of course the tweets are hilarious and pretty much spot on. Aggie is about to embark on a long nasty stay at Shawshank...er SEC as the new fish, and the sisters think Aggie is awfully purdy.
There is no place like Nebraska...THANK GOD!!!!

"I went to State" could mean a hundred different places. "I went to Colorado" can only mean one.

Somehow I think the aggies will regret their move to the SEC down the road. Not necessarily just because of a rough schedule.

I still think it's a good move for them. People in Texas can now effectively root for both UT and A&M since they don't affect each other. This helps give A&M their own identity, something they have been craving for 100 years.

A&M already has an identity. It just sucks. I don't think changing perennial underachiever to perennial loser is gonna help

If they can help get rid of the "little brother" mentality, they wont care whether they win or lose. They're just happy to be the only texas team in the conference.

But I agree they they will get smoked for a few years.

Huh? Those two fanbases HATE each other. No one is going to cheer for both of them now just because they're in separate conferences.

I can't tell you how many ATM fans I met at the 2001 CCG who were cheering for the UTerus. I asked several if they hated UTerus so much how could they possibly cheer for them? All replied that they did hate them, but the state of Texass comes first. I was dumbfounded.

Agree with Greg. A&M will struggle that's a given, but if they ever want to create their own identity this is about the only way to do it. UT is better in every facet whether it be academics, athletics, endowment or overall value. No matter what Aggy does, Texas will come along and do it bigger and better. The godzillatron comes to mind as a recent example. This is probably the only way that A&M can get some kind of an edge or one up on Texas and market that they play in the premier football conference in college sports. Texas would fare much better in the SEC than A&M but Texas doesn't have the balls to go even though most longhorn fans would never admit it. They could still keep their longhorn network if they went. The problem is they don't want to go 7-5 or 8-4 2 out of every 3 or 4 years. They would rather play one tough game a year in OU and fill out the rest of the schedule with middle of the road teams they can out recruit.

I agree and atm will recruit some really good talent that has been going to all the other texas schools in the past - they will do just fine in the sec, just give them a couple of years

An eight game conference schedule in a 14 team league is plain retarded. With one paired rival, you will only see some teams in your conference every 5 years or so.

Florida, Ole Miss and MIss State are pretty weak. Missouri is a little better than aggy. Auburn isn't that great without Cam. Is it really that bad?
