Martin was the sophomore of the year in California for 2010. His junior year was hampered by transfer rules, but he is already getting looks from all over.

BTW, two of his favorite RBs are Adrian Peterson and Maurice Jones-Drew.

    Have we offered?
Leach: Do you want to fight a buffalo? I don't know, those buffalo are big. You know, buffalo are significantly bigger than elk. I grew up near Yellowstone so I've been near buffalo. Buffalo are huge. And then the other thing I've always gotten a kick out of: When you play Colorado, there's those buffalo dragging those six handler around. Those handlers aren't dragging the buffalo. The buffalo's dragging him.

We have not offered. I know a lot of CU fans like the in-state backs, but I would prefer to see us go for broke out of state in either Cali or Texas (supposed to be a big year for RBs in the Lone Star State) for a truly elite back. Martin fits that description.

USC and Alabama are the early leaders for Martin according to Biggins at Scout.

I hope we pull one big upset this year, to get some real positive buzz.

"Oregon and Alabama are recruiting me the hardest," Martin said. "Those two stick out to me right now. I'm going to try and get to Alabama this Spring and really want to get up to Oregon some time too."
Think this helps us with Newby. Oregon seems to be making Martin a priority.
