Thread: Deepest class of talent in 10 years?

I can't say enough about the talent the coaches have pulled together. Not just deep, but also broad.

As was alluded to, we have traditionally recruited well at LB, TE, OL. We have had some great players in other positions, but those have been rather hit and miss, especially at QB, RB, and DB.

But this year, we have some amazing players in every position we recruited.

We have three wonderful WR's coming in.
We have 3 or 4 top quality cornerbacks.
We have one of the more talented DE's in the country with Jagne. I can't predict who will be a star DT, but we have good competitive horses now...Samson really is a beast, and his tape as an OG is extremely impressive.
We have two top quality QB's, and solid depth behind them.

Payne looks like a pretty elite back to me. (I hope he doesn't get that much bigger but gets a step or two faster). Abron is going to be a major contributor and will be much better inside runner than Rodney. Crowder has surprising speed, but needs to get a lot stronger in the lower body, to be durable i think.

I have been raving about Ray at TE for the last 2 months. After a year of development, Hobbs is going to be dominant, in much the same that Stanford's TE's where this year. Assuming Kasa plays well, a year from now, I'm not sure we are going to miss TM or JCF.

There are about 3 guys who I question whether they are really going to earn playing time. And for that reason I would have made it a higher priority to sign at least 1 top quality LB, or two 3-star LB's.

So I would give the coaches a B+ objectively, and after factoring in the record and everything, an A-.

I think we are better at every position compared to last year, save perhaps for the OL.

I would say this is the best class since coach Mac era.

We did lose a lot of experience at Qb, but Connor will hopefully be working hard this summer. Embree even said he was looking at game film this week. That is a good sign my friends

Embree said in his presser that classes should be evaluated after four years.
    Look at 2008.

I'd say that's a decent class. Eight of the 18 players made impacts.

Whoa, I don't know if i'd go there (best class since Mac). Neweasel's class that won the 2001 Big12 was as good as any of Mac's.
But I share your enthusiasm overall.
