Ironically Chip Kelly has a better win percentage then those coaches at 34-6, but those coaches have quite a few more seasons then Chip does. For some reason I thought Urban Meyers win percentage would be higher.

More than half of those losses for Meyer were in his first and last years.

Saban lost 6 games his first year, but then a total of 6 the next four. Wow.

Well that explains why I thought Urban would have a higher win percentage.

People can say that those schools have the best talent and built-in advantages, but look at all of the flame outs those schools have had as well.

Some of those schools have huge built in advantages (UT/UF) but that doesnt mean any idiot coach can consistently win.

Shouldn't this topic be "Best Cheating Coaches?"

I wonder how two coaches from the Big XII North--Snyder and Rhoads--would perform if given a chance in a school like 'Bama.

I guess Chizik is our best example, at Auburn...

There are some coaches that are damn good, but never made it to the "bigs.". Both of those guys, grobe at wake Forrest and Paul Johnson at GT (gimmicky offense, but they won the acc with it). It is hard at those top schools as well because nexpectations are so high every year. Chizik is awful IMO. He won his mnc because he had his VY. Auburn wont really be a force, more so a spoiler as time goes on with him there.

Dabo Sweeney at Clemson looks to be doing well and he's young too. A Bama boy, I've wondered if he go there (assuming Clemson stays a consistent team) if they came calling when Sabin retires; depending on the timeframe though that door may close if not within 5 years or so and Sweeney has Clemson a top 10 type of team.

I don't think Snyder would want a job at a high profile university - he's the closest thing to a total recluse in college football. Manhattan KS is a perfect place for him. He's a damn good coach, but a very private person.

I think he has to be in the discussion as one of the best coaches in the last 20 years. However, his win/loss record doesn't purely reflect his accomplishments.
