Excellent post. They were a pretty good program historically before joining the Big 12 and people have forgotten that. Baylor's rise in football didn't really shock me due to RGIII...he had the numbers in high school and still was a 4* kid because I don't think the big time programs took him seriously. He could have been 5* back then. Will Baylor be able to sustain their success? Time will tell but given their history pre-Big 12, it's doable.

Really? You sure you really want to go with this argument?

Their history suggests they are an average program that has not been able to sustain success. I have no idea whether they will be able to sustain success (Briles is a good coach), but I would not rely on Baylor's history to bolster your argument.

Baylor's recent athletic success simply does not pass the smell test. You don't go from a program shattering scandal to Elite 8 in that short of a time span. Something is fishy. I have no idea what it is, though.

I'm a big fan of Nash's, and I don't want to see him getting beaten up too badly here.

However, I will say this. I'm a deployed servicemember in Afghanistan. Sometimes all that gets me out of bed in the morning is my hate for Baylor. That's it. When things get tough...it's really about Baylor and how much I hate them. Last Fall, when bad guys were coming over the walls with RPGs, and I was in my hard-stand, wondering what would happen next--round in the chamber, ready for anything, I took energy in knowing how much I hate Baylor.

If you can't find it in yourself to hate Baylor, Nash, at least do it for the deployed servicemembers. We're counting on you.
