Scholarships are one year, but it's pretty bush league to take one away if he practices and knows the plays just isn't good enough. Combined with what Mtn said it probably won't get taken away and I wonder if it was a way for us to help get back into Texas as well as "stay in the family." If he wasn't a scholarship type of player in the first place then he never should have been given one. That falls on Embree, not Dorman. They knew he was a project coming in.

College football is a business an if you're not contributing, why should you be on a scholarship? Dorman shouldn't have been offered but I think that was the result of the staff scrambling to get some QB depth.

Then they must suffer for it. If it was a Hawk player then I could maybe see it. They made their own bed, now they have to lie in it.

And you don't contribute to society, but we let you still live in it.

Uh yes I do but that's beside the point.

If scholarships are year to year then why shouldn't you face the consequences if you don't perform? Academic scholarships can be revoked for not getting goo enough grades, is that different than football and performance? It's a touchy subject and I can see both sides of the argument but idk just seems like someone shouldn't get a free pass for 4-5.

Who says he's really getting a free pass though? If he's skipping workouts, not brushing up on his playbook and practicing his timing with the 4th stringers then I would also say he needs to be shown the door. There's no indication that it isn't the case. If it is, it's ok. Embree let go a lot of people that weren't doing what they were supposed to in the classroom and on the field. Accountability needs to be held for and Embree's culture is a lot different than the former regime's. He can discuss with Dorman his options at the end of the spring. If he leaves then good luck to him, but if he doesn't that's fine. He's still a Buff until proven otherwise.

At some point though, hardwork isn't enough. You need results and I haven't read a thing about him progressing any since he got to campus. Maybe he's a late bloomer, but it may be too late with who we're getting at QB, I don't know but I'd like to use that scholarship on someone who can come in and contribute. I would love to be wrong about him saying that.
