DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Larry Eustachy, already suspended by Iowa State for his behavior at late-night parties, was suspended for one game by the NCAA on Friday for a secondary rules violation.
The NCAA found Iowa State guilty because Eustachy twice paid players for making free throws. The university was ordered to suspend Eustachy for one game, but that might become moot because athletic director Bruce Van De Velde has recommended that Eustachy be fired.
Iowa State had reported the violations to the NCAA and will not appeal the ruling, said associate athletic director Bill Smith, the university's compliance coordinator.
Van De Velde's recommendation to fire Eustachy followed newspaper reports that he drank and partied with college students after games in Columbia, Mo., and Manhattan, Kan.
Photos from the Columbia party show Eustachy kissing young women and being kissed by them on the cheek. Eustachy disclosed this week that he is an alcoholic and is seeking treatment.

Word at the burrito stand is that CSU AD Jack Graham sent the following recruitment video to Eustachy to get him to come to Fort Fun for an "interview":

So, I don't follow bball. Is this a good hire or what?
would be a nice get for them CSU is basically ISU lite.
"Don't argue with an idiot, he'll drag you down to his level and beat you with experience."
ENTJ
Is this their new BBball coach?
I would imagine he sees CSU as a good steppingstone to get back into the bigtime. CSU has some talent coming back and the MWC is getting tourney bids but still isn't that good a conference on the bottom and the middle so he would have a good probabiltity of getting back into the tourney. From there he probably figures he can get his name back into the running for major conference jobs.
I think his "poor judgement" was the can of Natty Light in his hand.
Between this guy and 'tini, I'm quickly becoming a CSU fan. This seems like a good hire.
I can almost see the polyester suits now.
Gotta say, this would be a good hire for them. The only thing that confuses me is wondering if CSU is really that big of a step up from Southern Miss. CSU is going to be pretty good next season, but I'm not sure one year there would be enough to springboard him to a BCS level job. So if that's true, why not stay at Southern Miss for one more year and try to get another good season before leaving? I don't think USM loses that much from this year's team (I think they only have 2-3 seniors in their rotation), so why not try one more year there?
CSU does know how good of a coach he is though. He took Southern Miss into Moby earlier this season and took them behind the woodshed by 20+ points.
CSU must be milking their donors dry trying to regain some sense of relevancy - or they're borrowing large sums of cash from the school
