This. In state kids are going to go elsewhere and not even look at CU. It happens everywhere. It's the top recruits who are visiting us and we are top 3 with who we need to be worried about losing.
I know he ended up playing baseball, but Darnell McDonald (Cherry Creek) was a special HS football player who initially signed with University of Texas before going pro in baseball. 1st round draft pick out of high school. He currently plays outfield for the NY Yankees.
Cory Ross and Kenny Bell both contributed... somewhere.
Remember Montbello's Michael Houston? First went to Texas then joined the Weasel but didn't play much or at all once there. Should have been a big deal.
We also had Troy Polamalu and Carson Palmer committed to us at one point.
