Mac passionate plea, shows he cares about CU football. A former National championship coach comments hold more weight than a fan that has not coached in his or her life. The same Mike Bohn that hired Dan Hawkins, gave him 5 years is now right to fire Embo. Ha ha ha ha

In effect, he called our program racist without once pointing to the on the field results of Jon Embree's 2 years. He'd have an easier time comparing Embree's 2 years to Turner Gill's 2 years at Kansas then to his first 2 years at Colorado. He knew that and that's why he chose to ignore Embree's win/loss record. He focused on unfounded claims of racism because Dan Hawkins received 5 years.

Yes, when you take your team to a bowl game in year 2, narrowly miss a bowl game in year 3 and knock off a few top 25 teams in the process.. you're more likely to see out your contract then when you can't keep the game within 20 points in over 60% of your games.

And Dan Hawkins 2007 team had over 40 freshman starts so it wasn't all Barnett's recruits doing the work. After his second year, we were accepting commitments from 4 star Ryan Deehan, 4 star Lynn Katoa, 4 star Bryce Givens, 4 star Jon Major instead of debating whether he deserved a 3rd year.

    Carry on..

Matt Millen is full of ****. "It's not about the X's and O's, it's about people skills." JE has people skills, but can't coach the X's and O's.

I call BS. Mac's "passionate plea" shows he cares only about his own personal agenda. I have no problem with him being upset at the firing, or standing up for a former player. But, if he really cared about CU football, he would have bit his tongue and not thrown a tamtrum for public consumption - especially considering that he had a major role in creating the problem in the first place. He did a lot for CU when he was the coach. But that was 20+ years ago. He needs to move on -- we ALL need to move on and stop trying to relive 1994.

Mac is passionate yes, and completely wrong in this situation, you know it and I know it.

He went directly to the race card and made a fool of himself doing it.

You can argue the 2 year vs 5 year issue, but not on the basis of race.

Yeah, you'd think a nat'l champs comments would hold more weight than mine, but his inflammatory comments yesterday were simply embarassing to himself. Hell, even the black coaches association's prez said (in effect), "I wish he'd gotten more time, but wow, he lost to Sac St at home."

Waiting for a respected football analyst (not personally connected to Embree or Coach Mac) to come out in defense of Embree.

What the hell does Matt Millen know about building a football program? The guy oversaw the most embarrasing, failed, attempt to rebuild a program in the history of the sport.
