Rippy redshirted in 2008, practicing at both inside and outside linebacker. In 2009 Rippy entered fall camp as a potential starter at OLB, but a knee injury limited his play all season. He appeared in only 5 games (67 plays), compiling 6 tackles including a sack. He had minor knee surgery, but is 100% for spring 2010 practices. Rippy has moved to inside linebacker and is expected to be a big contributor and potential starter for the 2010 season.
