New Scout article/interview with Smith:

Covina (Calif.) Charter Oak linebacker Keith Smith (6-1, 219), visited Colorado over the weekend with three teammates, and with his visit completed, looked back on the trip.
“It went great and it was fun,” said Smith. “I had a good time there. They treated us like kings.”

Smith was hosted by Markus Burton but spending time with his three teammates on the trip allowed him the chance to meet more of the current players.

“We talked with a few of them and they just talked about the school to us,” said Smith.

Smith doesn’t yet have an offer from Colorado, but was hopeful one would materialize.

“They like me as an inside backer but I’m not sure yet when they’ll offer, they didn’t really specify,” said Smith. “The way they were talking to me, they sounded like they were going to offer me, but I’m not sure when.”

Smith said the Buffs, despite not having offered, are his top school.

As a senior, Smith had 134 tackles, two sacks, an interception and a blocked field goal.

Smith received a scholarship offer from San Jose State and has committed to them.
