Teammates with CU commit, Daniel Munyer. Gottschalk plays LT, but Rivals has him as a C for some reason.

Saying he's not looking to commit until January. Seems to like the state of Colorado a lot based on his description of his CSU visit below.

From a new Scout article:

Gottschalk, ranked as the No. 66 offensive tackle in the country by Scout.com, still denies a leader but now favors Colorado State, Nevada, UNLV, Colorado, Notre Dame and San Diego State. The Irish and Buffs haven’t offered yet.

“Colorado is real interested,” he said. “I talk to them a lot and they’ll be coming to our first playoff game next week.

-and-

Gottschalk took his first official visit on Oct. 10 to Colorado State when the Rams took on Utah. "The campus and town felt like home," he said. "I felt great around the coaches and players."

The Rams lost 24-17 to the Utes during Gottschalk's visit and he admits the team’s recent seven game losing streak is a concern. "It's gotten tough," he said. "All the losses are definitely something I'm looking at."

Re: '10 CA OT Ben Gottschalk

Gottschalk just returned from his official visit to Nevada.

According to a new Scout article, he's 85-90% sure he'll commit to Nevada. The hold-up is Colorado. Denver Johnson's talking to him a lot and supposedly we are close to offering. If we do, he'll visit. We should know this month where he has decided to go.

Re: '10 CA OT Ben Gottschalk

I like the thought of signing a center in this class. He can redshirt and then be ready to go when Stevens graduates. I think the interior line should be the focus this recruiting cycle.

can we be that picky atm? (not being negative, just trying to get a handle on where we are post 3 and 9). Given that this is a "depth" class, shouldn't we be going for the best athletes we can sign, even if they don't fit into any specific "need"?
