Barry played his 2008 school year in Florida, then moved to France for a year. When he came back to the US and enrolled at Del Oro, he was denied eligibility to play in California prep games. His case even went to court.

The upshoot of all that is that Barry is completely under the radar as a prospect. However, Bzdelik was among the coaches that did his homework and CU watched Del Oro practices this season in order to Scout Barry. We're bringing him out on an official visit next weekend. Reports are that Barry has range on his jumper, is quick enough to play the point, and can jump through the gym. He would be a great get for CU and fill the role of a "slasher" type that Bzdelik had targeted for this cycle.

Scout ran a great article on him today detailing the above: http://colorado.scout.com/2/960970.html

"It's really, really good," Barry said when asked about the Colorado program. "It's the Big 12. They play against big teams. It's very good."

Barry said when he visits Colorado he hopes to find a great school and campus with friendly people.

"Then basketball-wise, having good chemistry with my teammates, you know, the guys over there and with the coaches," he said.

Barry is up first on this dunk contest highlight from 2008 (he can definitely jump):

Since the coaching change, Barry is no longer interested in the Buffs. (Might also be because UCLA recently offered and he's a virtual lock to sign there.)
