Reported Offers: Colorado, Boston College, Iowa State, Minnesota, Boise State, Nevada, New Mexico State, San Diego State, San Jose State

From ESPN:

"I have an offer from Minnesota and I'm also hearing from Boise State, Iowa State, and Arizona State," said Kelley. "My dad went to Colorado and that's the school I grew up rooting for. I'm going to camp with them this summer and they're my top school at the moment.

Pretty good athlete. He won his league's heavyweight wrestling title.

Scout mod is saying that we have offered and that it will be between CU, Minnesota and Boise State.

Brandon Huffman, the West Recruiting Manager for Scout, says that Kelley is "one of the top centers in the West".

Does OC in the thread title refer to Center? I've never seen that designation before.

Yeah. I should probably switch that to just "C". All the other ones had 2 letters and I was just trying to keep it consistent.

Kelley will be making an official visit to CU for the Georgia game.

Hopefully the history, pageantry and everything the makes Boulder/Folsom/Colorado special will be what gets him to commit. I'd love to hold onto Kelley in this class after the new coach takes over. True center, which we need, and a very highly regarded player.

He would be a very nice pickup with moving away from Shaun Simon. He could step in as a redshirt freshman and start.

I didn't realize this, but Kelley's a legacy.

His dad, Karry, played from us from '76-'79 and started at right tackle. Also, it looks like our chief competition is coming from Minnesota (where he will likely visit) with Boise State (where he won't) not in the picture.

"I guess I just want to see if it's a place where I can fit in," Kelley said. "I want to see how good the coaching is and whether I can maybe make it to the next level. Just pretty see if I can live there for five years and if it's the perfect fit for me."

He cancelled his Boise State trip last week. He narrowed it down to CU and Minnesota.

This was big for us. Kelley's going to be a good one for us at a position we will need to replace in 2 years.

Hopefully it helps us with McClure, too.

For being the #1 center in California, and the #2 center in the West, he seems to have a very limited offer list. Any ideas why that would be?

I kinda thought the same thing. And why doesn't he have any stars?

sacky and daaah,

There are a couple things playing into this.

Rivals and ESPN haven't evaluated his film. There may not be any yet. Scout's recruiting guy for the west observed him in person and gave him a 3* rating. (I forgot to update the profile until just now.)

As far as offer list, that's probably due to no film and the fact that Kelley's a true center. He won't play guard or tackle in college. If you need a center, great. If you don't, you won't offer him.
