'12 CA QB Shane Dillon (Signed to COLORADO)

D-1 quality basketball recruit as well. Looks like he's a pretty good athlete and has a great 3-point shot. Doubt he ends up on the team here though.

The offers are likely the result of connections Whitfield has with those programs.

Cincinnati - Tony Pike
FSU - EJ Manuel
Ohio State - "In 1996 George was recruited by (current Ohio State head coach) Jim Tressel, to play quarterback for Youngstown State University." George also played at Massillon High School.
Vanderbilt - ????

Some other San Diego area kids off the top of my head:

the big time TE recruit nik was referring to:

big time T prospect who Dillon is very good friends with (the two unofficially visited CU together awhile back):

if we include Temecula area (kind of no mans land between the IE and San Diego area):

Temecula guy again:

Absolutely huge recruiting win for CU. He was the QB I'd been hoping for once I ruled out Kiel. And the coaches may have actually been higher on Dillon. Monumental get for the Buffs.

P.S. At the risk of having even more of you want me to spend less time on the boards, my streak continues. Every time we get a commitment, it's while I'm offline doing something less important (i.e., work meetings or family time). I'm starting to get superstitious about this.

You and your family need to take a trip that lasts from January to mid Feb every year...

I'd also like to add that his stats may be more of an indication of his teams talent level. In his videos, you rarely see him throw a swing pass that goes for anything more than a couple of yards. I remember that exact scenario occurring numerous times in Bart Houston's video. We also don't know how many of those ints were WRs running the wrong routes, losing a good jump ball, tipping it into the air, etc. Either way, ecstatic to have him on board.

@adamcm777: USC and Miami have been showing interest in #Buffs QB commit Shane Dillon, but he is content with CU, according to his coach

Cyler who? I like this kid.
