'12 CA SF Xavier Johnson (Signed to Colorado)

I really think X is going to come in with a chip on his shoulder too. It's obvious he's a big Pac-10/12 guy and really wanted to play in the conference. He's going to do everything he can to prove everyone that they made a mistake by not going after him.

Best part was seeing some UCLA fans talking about how they think they may have made a huge mistake and this may come back to bite them.

Booyaaaa!!!!! Nice get Coach! Man this class looks awesome! I have never been so excited about CU Basketball! The future looks bright!

Go BUFFS!!!

ESPN.com confirmed on Monday that ESPNU 100 small forward Xavier Johnson has ended his recruitment and will sign with Colorado.

Johnson, No. 24 at his position and No. 86 overall, visited the Buffaloes last weekend (Sept. 24). He was also being recruited by Arizona State, UCLA, USC and Harvard, among others.

ESPN.com Recruiting Coordinator Joel Francisco talks about Johnson's commitment.

"Xavier wanted to play in the Pac-12 and got his wish," he said. "He's a versatile prospect with an array of skills. He can step out and nail three's or go inside and utilize his length and underrated passing ability.

"He's a tenacious competitor with a great work ethic," Francisco added. "All these attributes should translate to a successful career for the Buffs."

Johnson is the fourth recruit for head coach Tad Boyle, joining fellow ESPNU 100 prospect Josh Scott, along with power forward Wesley Gordon and shooting guard Chris Jenkins, who committed on Sunday.

Congrats to Xavier. Congrats to Tad Boyle as well. This kid had an offer from UCLA, USC, and a handful of other big time programs. If the player development continues to be successful, there is no reason CU won't be competing for big time honors in the next few years.

Welcome to the B+G Xavier! You will be a part of the transformation! Have fun (and work really really hard)!!!

Looks like I pulled a nik. I was in toronto all weekend and hear this good news.

Nah, 'Nik is due for a business trip any day now. He'll pick up the slack.

BTW, one other aspect of this commitment that hasn't been discussed much is that we are now in with Mater Dei HS. Along with X, this school also has 2012 recruit SG Katin Reinhardt (who is roughly a top 50 prospect that's committed to UNLV), 2013 SG Elijah Brown (4* SG and #60 recruit on Rivals) and 2014 forward Stanley Johnson.

That's a pretty ridonkulous HS b-ball team.

A huge assist and S/O to Mike Rohn who is a beast in recruiting going back to his and Boyle's KU roots. This guy really gets it and perfect for recruiting..this momentum you can expect to only build in coming years..these guys are targeting tweeners strictly high level top 100 or preferably top 50 athletes.
