44 catches for 814 yards (18.5 avg). 13 of those catches went for touchdowns. http://www.maxpreps.com/athletes/ewMPJ4WfJ0Ot-Kwv7E1eKA/football-fall-10/stats-alex-jackson.htm

Also ran a 22.5 in the 200m, so it's clear that his reported 40 time isn't out of whack. http://dyestat.rise.espn.go.com/search.jsp?sort_type=event&eventSearch=null&athID=189904

Hmmm. The $50,000 question: Do I base my opinion on offer list or star rating? :wink2:

Let's go to the film.

Speed. Good quickness. Speed. Like his open field vision. Speed. Better than expected route running. Speed. Surprisingly difficult to tackle. Speed. Makes some difficult catches. Speed.

If we have room, this is a good candidate to bring in as an athlete. Give him a shot as a return man and figure out whether he fits best as a WR, all-purpose back or CB.

Same league as Cameron Countryman. I like both of them quite a bit and I think the toughness of their league is being sold short. It's obviously not top tier California football, but it's not terrible either.

Not only the same league, but Beverly Hills and Culver City are rivals the way CU and CSU are. They hate each other. Interesting that we've offered each's top WR.

which one is CU? This is very important.

We are in his top five (I think we take one more WR):

“I have started to narrow down my list a little bit. I have a top five which are, Oregon State, Iowa State, San Diego State, Colorado and Arizona State,” said Jackson.

Colorado- “Coach Kennedy, their receiver coach is recruiting me. He has coached some good players and he seems to know what he is doing. It would be nice to play for a coach that has put other players into the NFL and knows what he is really doing. I like that they are now part of the Pac-12, so that I can play a couple games in California.”

Well apparently ESPN and Scout disagree somewhat on the rankings on this one.

ESPN: 79 grade, 4*, #37 WR overall.

Scout: 2*, #170 WR overall.

I'm probably in the minority, but I have a higher regard for espin recruit evals than I do of Scouts. Scout just seems so paying-fan-centric that it's lost its credibility with me.

Rivals is the most accurate, imo. The rating system seems to be a good gauge of the individuals potential.

It seems all of the services are hit and miss imo. Obviously there will rarely be unanimous agreement, but it does crack me up how differently they see prospects sometimes. This would be one of those cases. Did Scout even bother to watch Jackson's film? Who knows.

Not sure if our coaches were still after him, but I think he's someone to keep an eye on in the coming years. Looks extremely fast in his highlights. Would have been fun to watch him and Gerald Thomas playing together.
