Sanders' dad played for Kansas. Game compares a bit to Hinrich. Look out for Turgeon at Maryland.

Was Sanders dad at KU at the same time as Tad. Might be a connection there if so.

According to this rivals article, his father Brad actually hosted Tad Boyle on his recruiting trip to Kansas back in the day.

He is going to be basiaclly a spot up shooter. I don't think he can create at a high level in the Pac 12 like some of the other guys on Tad's list. But at the same time, most the other guys couldn't shoot the ball with the same consistency this kid can.

High riser on ESPN. Went from 2*-85 to 3*-90 and from #68 SG to #26.

I see what you did there.

Hard to tell where my favorites lie because of the relatively shallow recruiting analysis in prep basketball, but if we have 1 hypothetical spot left in 2012 I'm a Caruso lean because it adds more height to the lineup.

Caruso is definitely a better prospect. Better all around player, better with the ball, bigger, etc..

I'm kind of surprised Maryland is going at him. I'm not sure he has the size or speed to play 2 in the ACC.

But Sanders is a hell of a shooter. He has the potential to be a Knudson kind of shooter...Obviously he won't be a huge impact freshman, but a nice role player when the big guys are ready.

He may not need to be anything other than a spot-up shooter with guys like Scott, Dinwiddie, Roberson, and Caruso (I'm aiming high here!) around. Those zone-busters with big-time range can be so valuable at the college level. In a way, I'd love to to see the 2012 class wrapped up after Caruso and Sanders visit on the 9th. I'm wondering if Caruso/Sanders is more of an either/or though, with Hairston as the other primary target.

We want a wing (SF/SG) and a combo guard (SG/PG) to finish this class.

From what you've said before, it sounds like Hairston's the combo guard they're targeting. I've got to think Hairston/Caruso would be the perfect finish to this class.

    +1

I would not be disappointed if we decide to go the C. Sanders (KFC) route though. Looks like a kid who's got a bright future in D-I hoops wherever he is offered and chooses to land.

Yeah, I definitely agree with that. Shooters tend to get underrated out of HS, but every year under-sized, out-manned teams make runs deep into the NCAA Tournament on the backs of guys who can shoot over the top of a zone.

Now lists offers from Stanford & Vanderbilt. Grades obviously aren't an issue for him.

We aren't excited enough about Sanders. Getting a sharpshooter who has the athleticism to have UT and aTm after him would be a HUGE pickup for CU.

I think we're getting spoiled already by Boyle's recruiting and not paying enough attention to a guy who would have a big impact for us. I haven't even read a visit report on Sanders. I really hope we land him.

This. I was talking to a friend last night who doesn't really follow recruiting. When I was done talking about Caruso, he asked about "the other kid who was visiting". I started talking about how he's a deadly shooter. How he's a good enough player to be getting offers from aTm, UT, and other top 25 teams. How he played on one of the top AAU teams in Texas. It was about halfway through that I started really getting excited. Sanders could be one of those great "under the radar" grabs -- which is amazing to think about considering he would have been our headliner most years before Boyle.

I really don't think were on the outside looking in here. Are we only taking one of him or Caruso?

I'd assume we'd take both now with Dinwindie not playing anymore.

Nik said that both Caruso and Sanders are in the "we will take if they want it" group right now.

Wow, how high have we risen? Getting one player at this level is still amazing to me. Getting 3 or 4!!? Wow.
