Allen burst on to the scene with a big sophomore season and followed it up with a strong junior season (844 yards and 14 TDs).

He has legit speed and was a star for Brophy at the 2011 State Meet as a sophomore. He finished 3rd in the 100, 2nd in the 200, 4th in the 400, and 2nd in the 110 hurdles. There is a possibility he will do both football and track in college.

He favors Stanford and Washington early in the process.

Not sure we have shown much interest in Allen up to this point, but he just set the Arizona state records in both hurdles events over the weekend. A 13.62/37.04 double is ridiculous, especially this early in the season and with prelims. Really hope we are not playing against him for several years.

[h=1]Season of state records[/h] Arizona track and field has been in the fast lane for the past five years, reaching a point where it could make an argument as being among the top echelon in the country -- boys and girls.

Phoenix Brophy Prep's Devon Allen may be the leading candidate for national athlete of the year after what he's done so far -- state records and USA No.1 times in the 110-meter high hurdles (13.52 seconds) and 300 hurdles (36.39). And he's only a junior. He also has the state's fastest 200 and 100 (although the 10.48 run last week at Mountain View was wind-aided).

Is there a chance he decides to run track in college instead of playing football?

Looks like he would have his choice of programs and may aspire to olympic level times.

Polk played ball at Brophy Prep, maybe he can get in this kid's ear. BP is definitely a school that would be in our best interest to establish some more connections with. Go get him Ray!

I see 0% chance we bring in another WR. Next year we'll have Peyton W, Jeffrey T, Bobo, and Dunston

Won the NCAA 110HH in 13.16, second fastest collegiate time ever.

Supposedly in the mix to see a lot of playing time at WR this Fall.

Scary. I've always felt that hurdles translates to football better than a standard sprint.

Hopefully the IPF will have a benefit for CU's T&F in sprints/hurdles/jumps. That could end up tipping the scale in our favor down the road for some track-running football players.
