'13 CA OLB Kevin Palma (Verbal to Stanford)

Sigh. Exactly the performance we didn't need today. Hopefully he was impressed with everything else, but ****.

Having a struggling unit is not always a turn-off for recruits. He should be licking his lips knowing that he might be able to come in and contribute right away.

Playing time. Cabral. Extremely young defense that could be very good in a year or two with some pieces like Palma added.

It's tough right now, but this is still a special place that has proved it can be a regular Top 10 program that wins national awards and championships.

May things turn around as soon as possible.

That's the problem, we have too many freshman and young guys playing now

Palma could come in and play next year, and have a prominant part in what is a rising group of excellent young defensive players. The line is improving rapidly, as is the defensive backfield. All with young, top players. We need good linebackers to join with the other guys and create a stud defense.

Oregon State is the main competition here assuming Stanford doesn't pull the trigger. Unfortunately, Oregon State is 3-0 and he's going to witness the Beavs get a win next weekend when they take on Wazzu in Corvallis.

What did he think of his visit?

"My trip to Colorado is going good so far. I have seen a lot of things that I like and am just getting a feel for the program," said Palma, who stands 6-foot-1, 225-pounds. "I really like the campus. It has a great look to it and Folsom Field is an amazing stadium. As far as environment for college, it is one of the best in the country."

He's going to make an official to Oregon State and then will decide by mid-October.

We need this guy, lb is gonna be a nice position to play at CU with how we are building the dline.

GO COUGS! Not too hard for me to root for them (WSU) either...

Our chances were great before the bad start. I think it is less than 50% now.

:wave2: exactly why you can't start the season slow, or in our case not start the season at all.
