Vercher Proves He's One to Watch

Los Angeles (Calif.) Bishop Mora Salesian quarterback Jihad Vercher showcased his talent last weekend at the New Level Athletics Elite 7on7 Tournament and will lead his team to Nationals. He has his eye on a few Pac-12 programs...

Greg Biggins loved him at the Vegas 7on7:

Vercher, out of Los Angeles (Calif.) Salesian is undersized and that’s the only thing holding him back from having double digit offers right now. If he’s even two inches taller, he’s on everyone’s radar.

Simply put, the ball just explodes out of his hand and that’s something you can’t teach. Vercher can absolutely spin it as well as anyone in the state and he led a surprising 4th Quarter Sports team all the way to the semi-finals before losing to eventual champion, Team Utah.

In terms of mechanics, ball placement, accuracy, arm strength, etc, Vercher has it all. Again, the downside is he’s probably in the 5-10-5-11 range, but if someone were to take a chance on him, he could make on lucky program pretty happy down the line.

Hmmm, this sounds eerily familiar to me...
 
Idk man, I really like his clips. He has really good footwork. Whether its a straight drop or he's on the move, he gets his feet right before he lets it go and steps into throws. I wouldnt be disappointed to take him. Height is always good but you can get away with not having it in college. Russell Wilson didnt do too bad. Somebody has been working with this kid, mechanically he's pretty far along. Another thing I like, he's looking downfield to throw when he scrambles.
