I couldn't find highlights on him.

Looks like a good athlete. Over a 300 lb powerclean, 2-year starter and all-conference performer in football, and state champion in the discus.

    Committed to CSU today.

    Rivals article:

The Gateway standout said he is solid in his verbal pledge to CSU, but will still take calls from schools.

"(Coaches) say they're going to keep talking to me. I talked to CU today and they didn't really say much about it (the commitment) and they said they would continue to message me and what-not. Coach Frazier and Coach English both said that they will keep contacting me just to see how things are going.

"I haven't heard from Air Force or UNC in a while, but I'm assuming they will continue to contact me because I haven't told them yet that I committed to CSU. But I'm pretty solid to CSU," Golditch reaffirmed.

The talented lineman plans on attending camps at Air Force and CU for football and CSU's throwing camp for track and field this summer. A state champion thrower, Golditch said he is open to the idea of throwing for CSU, but said he will concentrate on football.

    Scout article:

Along with playing tackle, Golditch plays defensive end and is a long snapper.

This points out the tragedy that this thing is. The victims of this aren't just a bunch of faces or names. They are people with families, friends, co-workers, and many other who will also suffer worrying about them and missing the ones we have lost. This reaches much further than this theater.

Prayers for Zack and all the injured and their families, more for the families of those who died.

Sounds like he's ok. Some good news on this tragedy, at least.

    http://www.coloradoan.com/article/20120720/NEWS01/307200022

CSU football recruit Zack Golditch was among the 38 injured in this morning shooting at the Century 16 Theater in Aurora.Him and members of the Gateway High School football team were in a theater room adjacent to the one where 24-year-old James Holmes opened fire. The bullet traveled through the wall, striking Golditch, an offensive lineman, in the left side, entering just below the ear, exiting at his hairline.

Bullet penetration was not deep, he said, and he suffered no serious injuries.

“It was at the scene of the movie where a firearm was pulled and shots were fired. It kind of sounded like black cats went off,” said Golditch, who committed to Colorado State University in June. “Everyone kind of looked around the theater and this guy had like a hole in his arm. Everyone just thought they were firecrackers so we turned back to the movie, and that’s when my ears started ringing and I fell on my friend. I was fearful of another firecracker coming to hit me.”

Golditch said he promptly exited the theater, hoping there would be help outside. There wasn’t. He called 9-1-1 and a group of construction workers nearby helped him clean his wound until paramedics arrived.

He was taken to nearby Swedish Medical Center around 1 a.m. and released at 6:45. He is now at home resting.

“I just went in one side and out the other. I also have a pretty deep cut from where it hit,” he said. “There was no serious damage at all. Luckily for me, it missed everything. It’s a blessing.”

CSU sophomore wide receiver David Anderson, a Gateway graduate, was with Golditch at the time of the shooting. He wasn’t injured.

C'mon Nash. You are better than this.

He's a high school kid on Gateway's football team that was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

    The CSU affiliation is inconsequential.

It shouldn't matter if he's going to CU, NU, or CSU. He, and all the others that were at the theater when the shooting happened did nothing to deserve this.

    Get better soon, Zack.

A coach can't know every recruit everywhere, but he should at least know who the top 15 - 20 are in his own state, and he should know a fair amount about the top 10 or so. An in-state kid should have the scales tipped slightly in his favor for a number of reasons: future recruiting, fan involvement (like winning new fans), and fewer will leave because they got homesick or have distant family issues to deal with (Hobbs?). I'm amazed at Embree's apparent blindness to these things. Hoping NewMac follows through on his promises. We've missed out on so many good CO players in the last decade.
