Another huge riser in the most recent Rivals ratings, up from a 3*. I suppose that adding offers from Alabama, Nebraska and Wisconsin helped a bit.

Huge offer list from big name programs. Interesting that I don't see UGA or Tech in that field.

Sounds as though he is announcing sometime between late tonight and Saturday. He is choosing between Oregon, LSU, Wisconsin and Missouri.

    Just choose LSU.

That's a whole nother level of recruiting when you can pull both Rettig and Jennings at QB in the same class.

Neither guy is from LSU's primary recruiting grounds. Wow.

Les still doesn't know what kind of offense he wants to run. He pulls in one of the best pro style QB's and one of the best run-spread QB's in the last 2 weeks. Looks like he's going for part 2 of the devastating 1-2 punch that was Jefferson/Lee.

Crazy thing is with the kind of talent he keeps bringing in it doesn't much matter what he decides to run. He can destroy all but about 10 teams in the nation on strictly talent no matter what they decide to run.

I see your point, but that's not the whole story. He rarely destroys teams with his offense. People see the final scores and the highlights, and assume they have firepower. They do have tons of talent, but the gameplans are a huge hodgepodge of plays that are more often than not drive killers. There'll be the 70 yard td, but there'll be the 3-4 three and outs before that one, against even teams like Louisiana-Lafayette. The offense has been reliant on defense and special teams to spur them on, usually in the 2nd & 3rd Quarters.

Les has a bit of the Dan Hawkins mentalitiy in that he's a genius OC in his own mind. People think some crazy lockerroom incident had to have happened for LSU to play that horribly against Alabama in the NC. Nah, that was just Les trying to run the offense, as usual.

Hey, as the old saying goes, defense wins championships and whatever he's doin is working.

I'm really surprised he isn't going to whOregon though, they thought that he was a lock for them. Oh well, **** whOregon.

You are correct in your assessment of his offensive "plan." He doesn't ever seem to have any cohesive idea of what he is doing and they have a lot of trouble sustaining drives. With their talent they usually don't have to. With the kind of speed they have they just throw stuff up against the wall and eventually a couple of guys break big plays on individual efforts. They also get points and field position handed to them because as good as the athletes are on offense they are better on defense.

This showed up last year when they couldn't score against Bama', a team with athletes on defense to match LSU's talent on offense. With all this Les is still a better coach than Mac Brown who managed to keep his talent out of a bowl game.
