Nephew of Broncos' Brian Dawkins.

Trinity HS was ranked #1 in the nation among high school programs last year, so developing a pipeline into there would be huge.

Someone posted on the free Scout board a bunch of stuff about Dalyn Dawkins in order to pub him a bit.

2011 Junior Running back Dalyn Dawkins of Louisville Trinity High School...Dalyn was an honorable mention All-American by sports illustrated and named 2nd team all-state by the courier-journal in louisville...dalyn was also named first team all-catholic league by LouisvilleCatholicSports.com 1st team All-State BGP 1st team all district and 2nd team All- State AP.

Dalyn rushed for 1,901 yards on 237 carries for an average of 8.0 yards per carry...He also notched 34 touchdowns and added 20 receptions for 133 yards. This was done against one of the nations toughest schedules.(Maxpreps 3rd toughest Schedule)

Dawkins had one performance this year that caused ESPNHS to name him the Southeast's player of the week:

Dalyn Dawkins, Trinity (Louisville, Ky.)
The 5-foot-9, 180-pound junior running back ran for a career-best 272 yards on 26 carries as the unbeaten Shamrocks, who moved up to No. 3 in this week’s POWERADE FAB 50, posted a 49-6 rout of Butler (Louisville, Ky.) in the Class 6A state semifinals. Dawkins, who scored three touchdowns versus Butler, has rushed for 498 yards and five touchdowns on 50 carries in the last two playoff games. On the season, Dawkins has gained 1,748 yards and scored 28 touchdowns. Trinity will face Scott County (Georgetown, Ky.) in the title game, which is the Shamrocks’ 11th final appearance in the last 12 years.

Dalyn Dawkins: Like Father Like Son
November 21st, 2011 | Author: JD Coffey

Remember former Louisville running back Ralph Dawkins? If you do, you probably remember him being one of the best running backs ever to catch balls out of the backfield for the Cardinals. Not only was he good at catching the ball but he was a hell of a running back. Ralph can be found all over the record books and helped the Cards to a win at the 1991 Fiesta Bowl over the Alabama Crimson Tide. Ralph lead the Cardinals twice in receiving and three times in rushing throughout his four-year career.

Now let me introduce you to another, younger Dawkins. Dalyn Dawkins is the son of Ralph as well as nephew to current Denver Broncos starting strong safety Brian Dawkins. Dalyn is currently a junior at Louisville’s Trinity High School. Friday night against arch rival St Xavier Tigers Dawkins put on a showcase carrying for a career high 226 yards and two touchdowns. At the end of regulation Friday, Dalyn had tallied 1,476 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns on the season. With still another year to mature and improve, it seems the sky is the limit for this prodigal son.
