No expert on Texas HS ball, but Coronado is a relatively big school (5A) and has had a successful coach named Don Brooks who has been there since the 70s. Know El Paso isn't the hotbed of metro Dallas or Houston, but he's been probably playing at a fairly decent level of competition.

well, if you're looking for athletic DTs, TE/FB is a good place to start. Last one of those worked out pretty well.

oh, and i might add: Welcome to the Black and Gold! Go Buffs!

I love his highlight film. He is quick, explosive and has a great motor. He blows up people and blows off the LOS. I am surprised he hasn't shown up on anyone's radar yet, but perhaps he also blew up physically recently b/c older data suggests he weighed 250 last year yet some newer data says he is close to 290 already. Maybe he decided to follow the diet of the Supersize me guy the last several months?

Switch that man to DE.

Maybe he hasn't been playing all that long or matured later who knows? I remember there being alot of high schools in El Paso. Anyway, welcome.

Put on 40 pounds over this past year.

I get the feeling there's going to be offers flowing in for Eddy in coming months. Great to get this verbal ahead of the crowd.

Woohoo! DL! Very necessary. Now we need some DE legit pass rushers... wonder what the full story with this kid is

Nice under-the-radar land. Hope other programs stay away, but he says he's a man of his word!

Welcome young man!
Will be interesting to watch this one.

Rabid Goldfish part dos?

A commit at a position of need! I'm happy. Hadn't heard of this player, but he apparently performs well in camp and our staff wanted him on scholarship. Also, he looks friendly in his picture, and I think that's an important quality on the defensive line. Go Buffs!

I'm no expert at breaking down tape, but did it seem to anyone else that he had poor technique?

To me, it didn't seem like he used his hands well, he just used his athleticism and strength to get into the backfield. Sure, that's a good thing, but it looks like some work needs to be done. Then again, you can't teach athleticism, but you CAN teach technique. I wonder if that'll be a hallmark of the rebuilding process early on.
