Also hate to see this because it seems like often kids who do this (leave a program earlly in) turn into the ones we hear about who never finished college and fail to take advantage of the opportunity available.

Hope very much that whatever is going on he can get taken care of and that he can get back to the game and school (any school) and finish up.

He appears to be headed to Blinn College.

Hope he can get it together academically and take advantage. Don't know his situation but would like to see him take this chance, get back on track and maybe transfer back to CU if it works out.

If he takes a RS year and plays a year he will have 2 to play 2.

Can't he play right away?

He should take a redshirt this year ('16 season) and concentrate on getting his academics in order. It is possible that he would be able to graduate from Blinn in time to re-enroll somewhere in Jan '17, depends on how many credits he was able to earn in his two semesters here.

Add to his two semesters in Boulder, any credits he got while gray shirting.

Best of luck to him.

As Aero says if he takes his RS then he could have 2 years left to play at the D1 level. If he plays both years at the JC level then he will only have one year left after the transfer.

If we hadn't been so thin at LB last year forcing him to play when guys got hurt then he could have played 2 years at JC and still had 2 years left after the transfer.
