Thanks for starting a profile, Tini.

Kind of an odd junior season: 629 yards passing, 6 TDs/5 INTs, 39% completion; 1,456 yards rushing and 16 TDs.

Can we say "dual threat" instead of using that name in these descriptions? A guy like Kapernick who has a linebacker body, throws a 94 mph fastball, and runs a 4.5 forty is beyond rare in sports.

Interesting question for sure. He only attempted 112 passes total as a junior, yet he was the all-district QB for a 3-7 team.

Now all we need is his girl friend from Junior High to reach out to him, so we can reel him in!

Looks like REALLY good athlete to me.

Really like this guys film. Very athletic and runs very well. Does anyone get the feeling we may be moving towards a 49ers/Nevada style pistol? Between Sefo and Lee-Campbell (two different players, yes), they can both move.

I see him as more of a Michael Vick player.

That post wasn't serious, just joking around with every DQB being compared to him or RG3 now.

I'm thinking Vince Young or Randal Cunningham or Warren Moon or Doug Williams or Steve McNair.

His athletic ability and instincts while running are off the charts. I have questions about him as a Pac 12 QB as he is clearly a run first guy. However, a few of the highlights, particularly at 5:50 in the video make me think he has potential as a QB. What I like is he is flushed out of the pocket and you would think he would just run but he keeps his head up and makes a soft touch pass over a defender while on the run.

    Like.

A little off-topic, but is anyone else a little concerned about the implications of discussing a scholarship offer over Twitter?

No. I've got more important things to worry about.

No, why should we? It would only be a problem if he were a coach, but I looked all over the Buff website and I don't see a coach Walters anywhere.

He throws a handful of passes in that video and people compare him to Kaepernick? C'mon people.

This is the kind of athlete I hope we target next cycle. Pair him with a pocket passer type and see what happens. This kid clearly has the size, speed, and quickness to likely excel as a WR if QB doesn't work out as well.

Just a quick update: he picked up a CU offer a couple weeks ago. Not sure where we have pegged.

I don't think we have the luxury to be offering different types of QBs to see what happens.

I think we probably know what we need (in terms of style) and we go after it and take at least one QB each cycle, and maybe more this year, as discussed elsewhere.

This guy is big and can run. It's not clear to me that he has the skills that they would require of their QB, but he might. Those skills would be a requirement I'm sure, and if he happens to run the ball well, that's a bonus.

Could be. I think they're pretty flexible in terms of QB type, though. They had Fales who wasn't going anywhere fast, but rotated some other guy in that was more mobile last year. Maybe that was an isolated idea for that year, but I'd guess most coaches would prefer someone who is mobile, assuming of course the throwing is equal to the competitor.

I'm just not comfortable taking Campbell as a QB only. He's an amazing athlete, but if he's the only QB you're taking in a given year, the likelihood of bust is high. And we don't have the luxury of taking another bust at QB. We need an above average QB out of Dillon, Liufau or whoever we take in 2014.

The nice thing about taking a super-athlete QB is he can move to another position easily once he gives it a year to develop.

Just to clarify what I am saying above. The Staff has some things they are looking for as baseline requirements and running ability is most certainly not on that list. It's a nice adder, but not one of the hard requirements. They can't afford to take QBs that might develop, and move to WR if they don't. We need a QB pipeline that fits the minimum requirements.

Scout has a new free article talking about his connections to Colorado. He seems to favor TCU, but they already have two QB commits and look to be recruiting him as an athlete. We're apparently recruiting him as a QB, so if that's the position he wants to stick with, we may have a shot.
