Impressive that so many schools have found him this early.

A sign the coaches are looking to sign two TEs?

Latest Rivals update has Boulder as a possible summer visit destination. Sounds like we have ground to make up.

High priority recruit for the staff. Was really disappointed when he didn't list us in the top 5 last month. At least we got in there this time. Hopefully that's an indication of making up some ground recently.

Just gotta get him to Boulder. Would be a nice change from Yuma. One of my favorite players in this class.

We're not in his top five with that offer list? Dang. Hopefully he has an awesome time in Boulder. If he cares about playing time he should see a pretty easy path to the top of the depth chart here.

    From a June 3rd update. $$ LINK

That gesture by Fitzgerald, plus Northwestern's combination of high-level academics and Big Ten football, caused Pistone to immediately put the Wildcats in his Top 5, along with Boise State, Oregon State, Vanderbilt and Washington.

The only one in that list that pisses me off and will always piss me off is that truck stop school in Boise. (all due respect for our cool BSU fan who posts here)

No kidding. I understand Northwestern and Vandy, and probably UW for the academics side. The Beavs and the Broncs must have shown him some attention but I hope CU can edge ahead of both of those and get an official visit from him this fall.

Boise is my pick for a school that's about to drop hard and fast. Harsin is doing a good job recruiting, but that won't matter if he can't replicate the magic that was Chris Petersen. Petersen is a really good coach and Harsin has proven nothing. Lots of question marks from his time away from Petersen.

And their academics are just not up to snuff at all. Bewildering why he'd even consider them.

Boise State holds a lot of appeal for some kids. They've had some big success in recent years, and I have to assume that a kid who is considering Boise State likes two things: small town living and being the underdog. That should play into our strengths well right?

I would put those factors near the bottom of the list for Boise state recruits. Winning records, national exposure, low academic standards and coaching staff would be much higher on the list.

I think Boise State will remain a very good MWC program. That school and community are way too invested in being a good football school for it to really fall apart. But the rest of the MWC is going to close the gap more every year and we'll start seeing some 8-4 type seasons from them soon.

I suppose that is a safe bet, however I wouldn't count out a complete implosion Buffs-style within 2-3 years if the coaching staff can't pull their **** together next year. They were already on a downward spiral before Peterson jumped ship.

As long as Boise is spending money at a rate like a B5 school they will do okay. They are willing to accept some marginal guys and they can sell winning and a very supportive environment.

Add that to playing a MWC schedule along with a couple of Sun Belt type schools a year in the OOC and they are not going to drop far in the win totals. Worst should be 8-9 wins a season.

The hitch in this entire scenario is do they continue to spend the $$$$$. The plan was to spend the money, win a bunch of games, get the rankings and the publicity and force themselves into a BCS level conference, preferably the PAC or the B12 but even something like the Big East would have been acceptable. At that point the media money would have taken the place of the millions that the school and the community was putting into supporting the program at that level.

The got the wins, the rankings, and for a while were the topic of conversation (will Boise get a shot at the NC?) but the major conference bid never came through. They thought they had the Big East which would have been a bad combination for travel but would have brought them a much bigger chunk of money than the WAC/MWC but that fell through.

Now the school is facing some budget issues, the Boise economy has taken some hits, and that subsidy to the BSU football team is looking like a bunch of money. It is a real question how long it continues and without that subsidy Boise becomes another typical MWC team.

Yup. Not uncommon for schools to fatten their records up against lower level competition. I think if you looked at CU's OOC schedule for the past 10 or 20 years it matches up favorably in terms of difficulty with the huge majority of major conference teams.

Difference is that Boise doesn't have PAC schools in their regular conference schedule. We will play how many ranked teams next season. CU plays 5 teams in the conference schedule that ended last year ranked.

Point is that Boise plays how many top 25 teams in conference. Line up the UNM,SDSU,UNLV,Wyo, etc. and along with the OOC they would have to fall of the planet not to win 8-9 games. As long as they are winning that many or more they will be able to sell kids on playing for a winner.

Going from 425 days of sunshine a year to damn near zero! And to a second-rate Ag school in a shi*ty town, as well ....what gets into these kids' skulls?

"Exposure" can't really be an issue either, in this day and age the NFL finds players at all levels.

I mean, to their defense, they did beat us 44-17. So there's that.
